TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Anyone want pick 61 and my 5th Waiver for your 2nd round waiver
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Already processed it for ya. I bet you're pretty pleased with yourself after all these weeks of pumping his tires incessantly.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 nice job revising all the picks to eliminate 2b Boxy.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I bet you're pretty pleased with yourself after all these weeks of pumping his tires incessantly. Getting Andrew Miller late in the waiver draft is a nice cash-in, but a star catcher could haunt me for years. This trade was surprisingly difficult to pull the trigger on.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 He f***ing well should be, free Andrew Miller is a pretty sexy thing. Why didn't one of you fools notice Contreras was available...God dammit, this is everyone's fault but mine. I did worse. I noticed and wrote him off.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Has anyone else stopped receiving email notifications for when you have a PM on the message board here?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I have, but I'm on here enough that it hasn't really affected me
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Now that the era of Miller is over :'(, I'm back to focusing on my other tradable assets. Eduardo Nunez - SS/3B. 'Breakout' season continues. Clearly the top 100 rating he has is due to a high BABIP, but even taking that away, he's been good this year. Positional flexibility is quite nice. Projected for double digit HR's and 20 steals out of the SS spot is nice, and I question the playing time on those projections as he's been playing full time for a while now. Mike Napoli - 1B/OF. Managed to get into the top 100 players this year on the back of 12 jacks and some decent RBI/R numbers. On pace for just under 30 HR's. Positional flexibility is a bonus. Ivan Nova. Is a pitcher! ... really nothing to say here, but if you need starts... yeah.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 you're so annoying sometimes I'm sure you could have had him for... oh wait never mind, your farm is trash.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Realistically, if Contreras was unowned and hadn't played in AA last year, but was still putting up these numbers in AAA this season, I think there's a very good chance he'd go 1st overall in our upcoming draft. He's going to be universally a Top 20 prospect on midseason lists.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 He's been a top 10 hitter in all of AAA, is young enough for the league, and doesn't have some of the red flags of hitters above him (age, uber-high BABIPs, big K's, etc). Biggest concern is obviously if he can stay at catcher, and if so, how do the cubs transition between him and Montero (who's been getting on base enough and has well regarded d). Will be an interesting trade to track.

The only major risk from a fantasy standpoint is how quickly the Cubs will make him relevant. He might just get his feet wet next year and take a year or two to establish himself while he occupies a roster spot. Conversely though, he could also be up any time now and really just mash his way into a regular role.

Oh well!
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Pick 17 for the next Mark Appel? Nice for you Speedy.

Laika Community Moderator Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 Wow, I looked into Stephenson yesterday and almost puked. Surprised someone gave up a first.
TRM Verified Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I hope Contreras works out, z3r0s is my favourite perennially s*** team to cheer for.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I gave up on Stephenson like 2 years ago.
TRM Verified Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I gave up on Stephenson like 2 years ago. Was Stephenson not drafted in our original MiLB draft? If someone hasn't made it from then, it's probably time to give up.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Trayce Thompson > Yasiel Puig? Guys I think we all have to admit that cyborg was right about Puig. I know, I hate it as much as the rest of you.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 What can I say, I like my s***** pitching prospects. I did some radio scouting on him and liked what I heard so much I thought I'd triple-down.
