Laika Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Probably a fair trade. Not sure which side I would prefer. I'm surprised KK traded Reed. Seemed like he was pretty married to AJ. For some reason I don't really like Zimmer.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I'm surprised KK traded Reed. Seemed like he was pretty married to AJ. Not sure why you though that. Traded him in LOD. Mentioned him to 5-6 owners in this league this offseason. Brought up Zimmer a lot as well.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Fine, you guys win. I dropped him. Don't go fighting over him. Also, did you know BA's #20 ranked prospect was on the FA list? How's this for idiotic? I've been lining up for days in the FC Waiver draft with Martes as my primary target, and yet it never even occurred to me to see if he was owned here. For some reason I was convinced that North already owned him as a prospect. Needless to say, nice add. North is really slipping.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 f***, I was also sure that North owned him. f***ing North.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I have agreed to trade Puig to King Kat for Zimmer and Reed. Really tough choice as I got two great offers I really liked. Hopefully I picked the right one! Nice trade. Not sure which side is better. It all depends how soon Puig dies, and if Reed is Goldschmidt or Billy Butler.

I seen him last week but thought he and Frankie Montas was the same person.

I had a safer deal from NJH and I was agonizing between the two. Floor vs. ceiling. Hope I made the right choice. Think either way I got a good return, though. Thanks to everyone who threw their name in and thanks for your patience.

And a big f*** you to everyone who expressed interest but couldn't find the balls to make a real offer? ... whoever that might have been...

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I seen him last week but thought he and Frankie Montas was the same person. They're kinda similar, both power fastball/slider guys without third pitches. Martes has better command tho.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 I almost always go with ceiling if I'm on the fence. So you're saying I should've taken the other deal...dammit
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Wise decision. Zimmer and Reed are each better than anybody on NJH's farm. Turner is going to suxxxxx. Like a lot.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 So you're saying I should've taken the other deal...dammit I thought you said NJH's offer was the (safer = lower floor)? Edit: Oh... I get it now. Nice burn.

Laika Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2016 Author Posted March 3, 2016 Wise decision. Zimmer and Reed are each better than anybody on NJH's farm. Turner is going to suxxxxx. Like a lot. My offer was three pitchers. Only one of them was on the farm. I'm not sure why anybody would be down on Turner. He has a broad skill set and probably enough power for Jimmy Rollins type fantasy production. I would say that I have 2 or 3 prospects better than Zimmer. Nothing close to Reed though, obviously. Zimmer goes in the Marisnick bucket for me. The whiff in 2015 was real.

I have deduced your offer to be Raisel, Hendricks, and either Manaea or Kopech -- obviously taking advantage of Boxy's known love for Hendricks. Strong offer, I still prefer Reed though.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 njh was clearly offering Iglesias + Manaea + Hendricks.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 lol, Dinger and I came to the same conclusion.

I think you're a bit harsh on Zimmer though. Quit stat scouting and use your eyes.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 njh was clearly offering Iglesias + Manaea + Hendricks. I had to send back big Clay though and that kind of weighed on me maybe more than it should have.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 If this was the offer Boxy made the right choice. Wise idea by NJH to try to sell high on Hendricks/Raisel's hype and buy low on Puig. Couldn't pull it off, but NJH has a knack for striking at the right time.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Yeah I would take Turner over Zimmer methinks but Correa kind of inhibits my need for him. Dunno what Dinger is smoking. I think you're a bit harsh on Zimmer though. Quit stat scouting and use your eyes. Pot.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2016 Posted March 3, 2016 Zimmer has broad skills. I think he'll be like Alex Gordon, good OBP and contributes across all cats.

My love for Hendricks is completely logical, but then remembered part of his appeal is supposed to be that people undervalued him, which NJH clearly does not. I really like Manaea too. Was very hard to go the other way.
