I dropped him on the 15th amidst minor injury concerns to try and stream an extra Hold from Addison Reed.

 

Benoit ended up getting a hold on the 16th, and then Reed got one on the 18th. So it was a nothing move.

 

BUT I ended up tied in Holds and tied in the matchup, losing the tiebreaker to slivergums. So if I had have waited one day to do the add/drop I would have made the finals.

He is one of those guys that no matter what got bad reviews for not having everything look right. He's not a great athlete and has an unorthodox swing. But he produced results. Within one year in the minors after being a 20th round pick BA had him as 6th on the prospect list for the Astros. Then a year later he had 150 PA's with Houston. Every report had him as a doubles hitter though.

 

If you were looking for a similar guy in the minors right now (meaning one that is missed because it's just not all there)...look at Jaycob Brugman for the A's. He's not fast, he's not getting the power numbers that his profile shows...but he's worked on balance because he was a front foot hitter (just like JD)
