Never heard of him.

Only guy I know for sure will be posted. He's a 1B so that could be an issue. He's hit 31, 37, 52 and 52 the past four seasons. In comparison Kang was 25, 22, 40 playing in the same park.

Hard to imagine a 1B who strikes out more than once per game in Korea being able to translate to the majors.

Will there be anyone good?

Maeda conversation has already started up as the Red Sox have hired some guy linked to him or something like that.

Kang's K-Rate went down from his KBO stats didn't it?

No, it held steady while his BB rate plummeted. Pirates modified his 2 strike approach and altered his leg kick a bit I think, which helped his K rate from going up in MLB.

It's in the realm of possibility but it's much more likely that he'll be closer to league average.

I wonder if Eric Thames will come over and be a top 10 waiver draft target! He's better than Byung Ho Park in literally every way, including race.

So does anyone think Kang can actually be a ~130 wRC+ guy going forward? Cause that would be huge for z3ros.

his leg falling off won't help that cause.

Yeah that's a terrible injury.

Remember when Stephen Drew blew up his leg and it completely altered/destroyed him as a player?

Russell better play better next year. I want to attempt to compete (probably still 1 year too early, but still) and I traded my other MLB ready SS in Trea.

My playoff waiver draft spoils are like a who's-who of 2016 sleepers:

Tommy Pham

Brandon Drury

Preston Tucker

Wily Peralta

Rubby De La Rosa

need to trade legit vets to make room for them all!

you mean ET wouldn't have put up a .380/.500/.700 line in the majors? ET was what I used as my reason for not taking Kang last year. Not dismissing anyone from KBO too quickly. My point was just that there appears to be no sure thing in the MLB draft this year.

This is KingKat's 1st year of bad luck though. Boxy has been screwed over numerous times.

I don't really feel like I had bad luck. 1st overall in the dispersal draft is way more important to me than 1st overall in the Milb draft. Best pick in the MiLB draft won't necessarily come from 1-1 but the best pick in the dispersal draft is pretty much always 1-1 or 1-2. JF's pick is what saved my bacon but that's moot. For a pratical purposes this is the same as my pick coming first in the waiver and his coming up fourth which would have been unremarkable.

What did JF get for his pick...we really could be focusing on how dumm he is.

Last year it wasn't! 1-2 was Tomas and Souza. The best players taken in the waiver draft were scattered veterans, Buchholz, Turner, Revere, A-Rod, Familia, etc., and the best *new* player was Kang who went 5th.

Souza could still be a monster but Tomas is garbage, obviously.

It's not like you to give me credit for making 3 of the best picks in the draft. That's very big of you.

You also grabbed Zeigler and Buehrle, but then I think you let Buehrle get away and traded for him later. So you somehow got 5 productive players in the waiver draft but conveniently told 3 of them to f*** off in short order. Brilliant

Shane green! I should really stop trying in this league. That approach works in every other board league I'm in that don't really care about.
