Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I love that the Burrito Boyz are loading up for a run, a playoff spot is definitely within reach.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I want Booger You already have him.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Recently? Yeah he just left out mega prospect Aaron Judge, nbd
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Wat I was implying that Boogers = Aybar. Your dumn.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Yeah he just left out mega prospect Aaron Judge, nbd "mega prospect" lol I figured it was Werth for Judge
TRM Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I was implying that Boogers = Aybar. Your dumn. I haven't looked to closely, are they even remotely comparable? I thought you were actually making a Iglesias comp if anything
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 "mega prospect" lol I figured it was Werth for Judge Werth suxxxxxx he was a throw in, like Koji Uehara.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I haven't looked to closely, are they even remotely comparable? I thought you were actually making a Iglesias comp if anything Career slash: Aybar = 277/317/380 Bogaerts = 271/316/381 Bogaerts is getting attention 0.365 BABIPing his way to a 100 wRC+ season, but he's basically Erick Aybar. Yes, I'm bitter because I thought Bogaerts would do what Correa is doing.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Correa is about at the point Brett Lawrie was in 2011. There's still time for him to flop. Talking down the price so you can swoop in and steal him from Boxy. Clever girl.
TRM Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 So does this make Aybar a viable SS option for a contender? I constantly flip back and forth with accepting him as a passable worst bat in my lineup, and desperately wanting to get a different SS option.

I constantly flip back and forth with accepting him as a passable worst bat in my lineup, and desperately wanting to get a different SS option. How many clean upgrades are there? Tulo Crawford Kang Peralta Correa IMO Aybar is a perfectly viable starting SS as your 9th bat. You'd obviously like to upgrade, but he's not going to kill you.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Aybar f***ing blows. It's fantasy baseball and he's a post prime slap hitter who barely steals. There are also studly SS holdovers like Hanley and Zobrist that he's miles behind.
TRM Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Ha! BTS perfectly captured my feelings 50% of the time in his post, and then NJH gets me perfect the other 50%
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Elvis Andrus is a better fantasy SS than Aybar. Or maybe equally as s*****.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Elvis Andrus is a better fantasy SS than Aybar. This is possibly but probably not true.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 This is possibly but probably not true. Look at the stats.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 In equal amount of at bats here are the leaders in each stat. Aybar 8 more runs, 5 more hits, .005 more OBP Andrus 3 more HRs, 6 more RBIs, 3 more SB, .011 more SLG

I've always considered them to be pretty similar fantasy assets though.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Elvis Andrus is terrible both IRL and in fantasy.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Andrus is owed a 15$M AAV through like 2023. I swear contracts affect performance.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/adam-eaton-is-up-to-something/ Looks like Eaton has done the whole 'strike out more and hit the ball hard in the air' thing. 287/369/456 over his last 385 PA. Hopefully he's Brett Gardner now and it's not a complete mirage.

I feel like we all still kinda view Eaton as having that 25-30 SB potential we thought he did as a prospect, but I'm not so sure about that any more. He's got stubby legs. Probably just a 10/15 guy with good OBPs.

Really just hoping I can get a slash line a bit above DDL average with 10-15 homers and a lot of runs.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Okay, I'll give you props. Nice Waiver grab! He's been better than Carlos Gomez lol. Hip issues suck.
