Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I don't actually want to leave but it sure would be nice if o2 wasn't a mod.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Fack, Shoemaker and Kennedy getting rocked to start my bye week.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Not a bye week for you, buck-o.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Not a bye week for you, buck-o. I'm not taking anything for granted. I've been blown out by Hurl and Gibbers this year.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I don't really understand what it is you seem to think I missed. That the only reason "the resident teens want to leave" is o2. Doesn't matter, they brought up Stoeten so now I hope this fails miserably. Also, called you a dickfart purely for the above Boxy reaction.
Laika Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 KK is the new Bye Week. Boxy might still suck but he's no pushover anymore. Matt Harvey cements his ratios in the competitive area and most of his offensive players contribute in some way.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 GD, to your Stoeten point, why not just try to leverage the fact that JFaS put Breaking Blue on the map by using that as the vehicle for whatever it is you and North are trying to do? If the idea is to grow a blog, I'm not really understanding why you'd want to start from scratch.

Juiced doesn't support the blog that well and they can't implement changes to the site without him. 2. o2 suxxxxx
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Not a bye week for you, buck-o. Now would be a great time to call up Carlos Correa.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 1. Juiced doesn't support the blog that well and they can't implement changes to the site without him. 2. o2 suxxxxx I dunno, I haven't been involved with the blog at all in like 2 years. I think that both North and GD want to get into baseball, and to do that they'll have to A) do really good work, and get people to read it. A) is completely up to them, and is made a lot easier by the fact that JFaS has given them a platform. Unless Ju1ced is being a complete dickfart or something.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Now would be a great time to call up the great Carlos Correa lol. You shut your whore mouth.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Now would be a great time to call up the great Carlos Correa lol. very tempting.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 You shut your whore mouth. I think it would be in the best interest of the league to have a talent like Correa impact the playoff race. Don't you think?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 You're presenting a very valid argument, bro. Not sure it's fair to the rest of the playoff contenders if I bench my best player.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I think it would be in the best interest of the league to have a talent like Correa impact the playoff race. Don't you think? I really just want to see boxy succeed long-term. He's a better team in 2016 if he doesn't burn a 20-man spot on Correa.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 f***, 5 walks in less than 4 IP for Kennedy. (Am I still allowed to say I like Kennedy as a pitcher after this complaint Boxy?)
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 A new high end (and great looking) blog / website dealing with fantasy sports and analytics could do very well, but I think the Howies are better off sticking with the current blog for now until they take a few university level courses on statistics. That's just my opinion, but if they're looking at doing it as something really serious, they need to make sure the processes they use are mathematically valid and have the ability to back it up. Doing the blog now gives them the writing and research experience to really benefit them later, and won't risk the integrity of a new high end site if they screw up.

Solution: Boxy trades Correa to me for the remainder of the season. I toss him James Paxton or something for his troubles. The league gets to see a young talent like Correa involved in a playoff race. Correa gets some invaluable experience for Boxy next year. Boxy gets Paxton for his troubles, and doesn't have to burn a 20-man spot on Correa, who is returned to him after the Rule-5 draft. Everyone wins.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Boxy, protecting a 20 man spot for next year is important. But can you really put a price on spiting BTS? I think not.

BTS Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Does Boxy have 20 legit keepers? No, but he can do some deadline bargain shopping with the available spots.
TRM Verified Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I like to think I'm not even top-5 in the most spiteable people in this league. It's a pretty clear 1/2, and then after that it's really muddled. Personal preference, really.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I like to think I'm not even top-5 in the most spiteable people in this league. Hmm, I think you are. Me, North, NJH, then probably you.
TRM Verified Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Hmm, I think you are. Me, North, NJH, then probably you. You're flattering yourself I think. 1. North 2. Sil 3. The field.
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Hmm, I think you are. Me, North, NJH, then probably you. Ugh, I can't in good conscience disagree with this. edit: jayblue too

You have the better team, and you should be able to grab that final playoff spot. Not sure how my team has managed to stay in the playoff hunt this long, but it's encouraging. I need to improve my offense in the Winter though.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 That wasn't in any particular order, BTW. I think North is more spitable than me.

You should trade all your pitching for talented but underperforming bats. That's what I'd do.
