BTS Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I'd maybe move Tommy Milone for one of those OFers. Die
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Die I want to, after seeing I'm down 2-9 to Hurl.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 It wasn't even that ridiculous of a request. Mark Trumbo is hitting .233/.286/.416 (75 wRC+) over the last three calendar years (1591 PA)... he's an awful player and may struggle to get a major league deal in the offseason. Yikes. Projections had him going like 260/310/450 with 30/80/100 IIRC. He's fallen a bit short of that.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I want to, after seeing I'm down 2-9 to Hurl. Hurl destroyed me like 11-2 or 12-1 or something. I know the feeling.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I'd probably need a pick coming back with Trumbo then. Milone has actually been pretty average.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Is Jorge Mateo the next Billy Hamilton? Or maybe even better. Listen to what a scout has to say about him... "He has a chance to be a star. He reminds me of [Edgar] Renteria at the similar age. He can run. If you watch batting practice you will see he has more than speed. The ball jumps off his bat for a young kid. You can say he is [an Alfonso] Soriano comp or a baby Hanley Ramirez. He has a chance to be special."

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Matt Kemp finally got to 100 wRC+ Who is about to die improves his condition before going to the afterlife
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Albert Pujols is on pace for a career-high 51 HR. Wat.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I took the wRC+ part out of my post because it seems that Fangraphs calendar year split wRC+ is messed up. Mark Trumbo was always a flawed player and it's catching up to him. If you believe there's still a productive hitter in there, you may as well keep Trumbo since there's no buy-low hype surrounding him. Is there anything suggesting that hitters of his type fall off early? I think his body is just breaking down. He's a huge guy, and has dealt with stress fractures in his feet, and his power has fallen off a cliff since he was diagnosed last year.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Matt Kemp finally got to 100 wRC+ Damn, he beat Cano to league average.

Scouts are pretty dumb with comps and always overshoot when it comes to guys they like.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 None of those comps are anything like Billy Hamilton. Hamilton was my comp of him. 80 speed. Same age at the same level. Stealing bases at the exact same per/G rate and same success rate.

Well Billy Hamilton is pretty much the epitome of a really good player IRL who sucks complete donkey dick in fantasy, so...congrats?
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Is Hamilton even rostered in the DDL?

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I'm bored. Ok I laughed pretty hard at that one
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 I'll take Billy Hamilton if nobody wants him. Dude has value. In 5x5 he has a lot of value.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Speaking of Billy Hamilton though, he was just dropped a couple hours ago in a cash re-draft league I'm in.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Anybody want Desmond Jennings? I have no room for him when he comes off the DL, so I'm willing to move him for dimes on the dollar.

Man, when I drafted him in the initial draft I thought I'd get many seasons prime Carl Crawford production.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Man, when I drafted him in the initial draft I thought I'd get many seasons prime Carl Crawford production. I still think there's plausible upside there, with potential for 15/25 in a fully healthy season. Unfortunately with his knee injury, I had to move on, and now I don't have a roster spot to utilize him. I would take a late 2nd or early 3rd for him, or a prospect or pitcher of similar value. I think that's a fair ask, given what the market has been for 2016 picks so far: Mid-late 1st = Ubaldo Jimenez Late 1st = Nate Karns Late 2nd = Kelvin Herrera

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Jennings sold to gryffindor for 2016 2nd. Jays_fever to confirm.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I accept. I sent the trade over yahoo
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I don't have an open roster spot to accept so I'll manually do the add/drop with commish tools.
