Wow, Jason Heyward is hitting eighth today. Kind of crazy how good he's been IRL but how much of a fantasy let down he is

Hey now, no reason to bring me or Big Hoz into this. This has nothing to do with us.

Lol Arizona, terrible trade. Poor Goldy.

It just amazes me that we had Navarro the whole time whom Dave Stewart MUST like more than Castillo and AA couldn't get anything done.

Trumbo didn't fit into their team with Jake Lamb coming back and they got some young talent. They didn't get enough though and Vidal Nuno is useful too.

Mark Trumbo was born to be a Mariner. Jack-Z is probably the most predictable GM around.

I think Dellin Betances might be the best reliever in baseball.

Is it bad that I kind of regret trading him and Sandoval for Price? Or at least that I didn't sub him for Chapman?

It's bad that you thought I made a mistake trading Brandon McCarthy for him.

Did I? McCarthy is pretty good though.

Crazy 0.00 ERA

Already has posted 1.5 WAR just by pitching 29.1 innings!

I'm at full farm and I'm facing the prospect of activating Betts to make room for the draft (amongst other moves) and I'm wondering if it might be better to trade him to a team with more room on their farm and, more generally, try to consolidate assetts.

In addition to Betts, players I'm looking to package include Span (providing as much value as he did last year and showing more power), Yimi Garcia (elite K rate, gets high leverage work on a good team, young). I also have some lots of middling 20 something pitchers that someone may like (Nate Karns, A.J. Cole, Hector Santiago) and lots of picks and prospects of course.

I'm not getting much utility out of Hector Rendon lately due to roster construction. If anyone is looking for a closer, let me know. I'd probably want to use him to upgrade a SP, or perhaps get a 3B.

Chris Sale has been insane over the last month:

44 IP, 59 K, 9 BB

That's very good. And yet, not exceptional:

Chris Sale, last month: 63 xFIP-

Carlos Carrasco, 2015: 65 xFIP-

No pitcher makes my heart ache with regret like Carlos Carrasco.

I've got a few that hurt me more, since I never owned him. Pineda and Arrieta are two guys I basically let go for nothing (Pineda in two leagues). Also, Sonny Gray and Chris Archer look like legit aces, so there's that.

Pleeeeease don't trade Mookie, he can be a franchise player for you. Or if you must, trade him to me.

I'm not going to do anything stupid.

Never fails

The xFIP- leaderboard is a Who's Who of pitchers Dinger has doubted/traded:

2. Chris Archer

4. Michael Pineda

6. Carlos Carrasco

7. Danny Salazar

(8. Chris Sale)

10. Jake Arrieta

13. Dallas Keuchel

16. Clay Buchholz

19. James Shields

WTF is up with Shields' K rate? I'm loving it.

Going into the season, I was a little worried about Shields' changeup SwStr%, as it had declined every year since 2010 and wasn't great last year (16.3%). The changeup has always been his signature pitch and he wasn't able to lean on it as much.

But this year, changeup SwStr% has jumped to a career high and Shields is also throwing a knockout curve for the first time and getting great fastball whiffs too. All of his pitches are suddenly much better; he's generating an absurd 14.0% SwStr% overall and still throwing a ton of strikes and has an average-ish batted ball distribution. It's a beautiful thing.

I just randomly ran into Kevin Pillar on the street. Congratulated him on his HRs the other day and said good luck, really nice and humble guy.
