The curveball is good but the fastball is a 50 and the command is below average. The SwStr doesn't give me much confidence that he's going to carry a K rate above 20% going forward, and he'll never be a K/BB or OBPA asset.

 

I like O'Day because I've been dominating saves so thoroughly that it really behooves me to get another holds guy to slot in for the Thurs-Sun games, by which time I usually have SV sewn up.

Dude hasn't passed 2.30 ERA in any year since he left the Rangers, he barely walks anyone and gets a nice amount of strikeouts with tons of holds. He also doesn't really throw hard and in my brain that equates to lesser risk of injury and he's not THAT old. Not sure what else you'd want from a holds guy but O'Day is an elite reliever. If you don't like him, I'll take him.
