I can fully understand why Gibbers rejected my offer but I would have appreciated some feedback and an opportunity to counter. I certainly didn't intend it as a line in the sand. I guess I should have just assumed no negotiation and tried to do a better job of reading his mind or possibly just throw a bunch of different offers at once.

I think that's what surprised a lot of people. No opportunity to discuss offers, and the final deal doesn't have that 'wow, I can see why he accepted immediately' factor.

I think the confusion about Iglesias having to play in a game first comes from the "MLB Debut Waivers" rule in LoD + the fact that historically Yahoo does not add players to the system during the year unless they play a game first.

 

Also, SVG, the Raisel Despaigne joke did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Sorry dude. I've been so overrun working I haven't followed any baseball since mid-December. When I put Marte on the block I expected to have some time to get into things but fell back into more work.

 

So I evaluated the names that were floated from 7 different managers who showed an interest. Had a look at their teams and farms and listed some names I'd be interested in or that would be fair to discuss. I didn't wanna start dropping bigger player names than Marte, because I just didn't have time to get into lengthy negotiations with 7 different managers, let alone 1 or 2.

 

All-in I, sure I could've gotten more. But the names I was interested in after looking at the teams and what I got back wasn't really a huge letdown.

It was either not talk trade or baseball at all this off season and probably into the Reg. season, or try and be somewhat active. I hate being an inactive owner. Like I said. I know I could've gotten more.
