I really hope Chase Anderson gets a rotation spot. But stupid Dave Stewart probably has Cahill and Hellickson above him on the depth chart.

Yeah I love Chase Anderson, if you didn't notice from my avatar lol.

Their other young guys have good stuff going on too. Cahill may still be decent.

There was a specific point in the early goings of 2014 where I was actually regretful that I traded Jon Villar for Randall Delgado.

Bitter rivals silvergun and BTS tied for the lead lol. Not surprised - I like dealing with him. Also, pretty surprised me and KingKat have made so many deals. Seems like we always have different valuation.

I was stuck in traffic on the 401 today when this douchebag tries blowing by everyone on the shoulder and a truck blocks him off....then no one would let him back in, until the car in front of me did. The letters on his license were BTSG. I immediately thought of you and Silvergun. Also how this driver is likely the spawn of satan...as would a BTS SG combo. Then I thought, I really have to get away from these boards for a while, and get out and meet real people.

With that said, anyone want to go curling with SpeedyGose and I in Barrie this Saturday?

K-Rod signs with the Brewers. Broxton is probably worth less than Hawkins now.

son of a...oh well worth a shot. Should have taken the trade with NJH. If Kang wasn't available Dinger would have taken Broxton...so I blame Gibbers.

I wasn't planning on taking Kang, so Kang still would've been available.

And I ended up getting a far superior closer!

I hate k rod

muahahahaha

btw, that trade is missing from the trade history. what was it exactly again, a pick?

I'm pretty sure we proposed and consummated the trade posting in this tread, and you probably just processed it. Makes sense why it didn't make the history.

edit- found it. K-Rod for MiLB pick #71, if North wants to add this to the history.

A steal for a closer, even in pre-cutdown market terms.

For some reason I decided to trade for AJ Cole last minute because he was free. Not sure if keeping an NA guy in my 20 was such a wise move.

But, I might not trade for Benoit if I had have kept K-Rod.

And then he goes and he uses that to leverage more out of me in the Rondon deal. At least I can take solace that Rondon ended up in the hands of nice guy, Dinger.

What do you guys think is the optimal roster composition? Generally I aim for something like:

9 Starting Batters

2 Bench Batters

8 SPs

3 Clozerz

2 RP Eligible Holds Guys

1 SP Eligible Holds Guy

Posted

My ideal construction is:

9 starting hitters

1 bench bat

6 every-time-out starting pitchers

2 closers

3 RP-eligible holds guys

2 SP-eligible holds guys (one who is a good-ratios longman)

2 speculative/streamer pitchers

it's viable to keep a couple of spots open for streaming / quick upside adds.

At any point, you should identify who would be the first guy you'd drop if something comes up.

I've spent most of my time with:

12 bats

8 SPs

5 relievers

The 12th bat sometimes becomes a 9th SP depending on the situation.

I missed a couple of adds last year because I spent too long looking up info to decide who to drop.

Not missing adds is my biggest objective this year. I think that's the key to a quick turn-around.
