This is a guy projected for a 4.76 ERA and you're starting him in an environment that has 130% more runs??????

 

ERA is only one stat though and the projection isn't taking into account everything we know about Frias, including his decent season in AAA and good PD stats.

 

I sincerely hope you start him tonight.

 

What about his dreadful K/9 and below average K/BB?

I think he's better enough than a 3.16 BB/9 guy that his K/9 and K/BB will be tolerable.

This would be news to me. They definitely take into account current and past PD stats (well at least Steamer does).

A year or two ago I read that they didn't use current-season minor league stats, so I started looking for minor league breakouts too. You may be right though.

 

Is Frias available for trade? I'm hearing good things about him...

He got banned once or some weird s*** happened that made his post count restart from zero while maintaining his thanks. That's why it looks so messed up, he had more thanks than posts made for a long time.

Actually if we go back to the old forum and quote mine for Fangraphs.com sheep guys who ended up eating massive crow, BTS is basically the poster boy.

 

Every time I think of BTS I think of this one line he typed years ago when Baltimore was s***** - "A Nick Markakis is a terrible thing to waste". Always makes me laugh a little bit.
