I kinda hope North wins, just because I would hate to see FTD get B2B bragging rights.

I feel the opposite way. If I don't get bragging rights, I want as few other people as possible to have them. Also, FTD is a pretty gracious winner. Rooting for him all the way.

And I just picked up my first Ottoneu (baseball) championship! I would like to thank Nox for creating a league that favours pitchers, as he would.

It's nice to finally have the two-start edge. And I have the tiebreaker, since I beat T&T 7-6 in Week 5!

The worst part is I didn't even use my double starts yesterday so they were a complete waste. I was expecting doubles from both Weaver and Gio, but they both got days off to get drunk and bang their girlfriends after they clinched.

I'm really, really hoping Detroit doesn't start Price on Sunday. It wouldn't make much sense to start him Sunday when Game 1 is right around the corner and they have nothing to play for right?

I promise I'll be gracious (to everyone except Boxy).

I'll do all I can do avenge you.

Damn, good point. I need the Royals to pull ahead in the division and the Mariners to keep the pressure on for the Wild Card.

Damn I just read that Zimmermann might skip his next start as a precaution. That would be huge for you.

Good matchup realmin. It turned out to be a really close one. I'll try and make all Cheesesteaks proud.

I hope you're ready for a battle North -- I'm going to bring everything I got.

f***.

Good luck fellow Cheesesteaker. Do us proud.

Can anyone get past the paywall so I can fap plz.

I wonder when I'll no longer be able to log in...considering my subscription ran out at the 1st of August.

BEST PLAYER: There is more to see than the 37 home runs Matt Olson blasted this year. The 20-year-old first baseman drew 117 walks, scored 111 runs and drove in 97 for high Class A Stockton in a season where he showed great progress and patience. The Athletics are particularly impressed by the walk totals, and Olson has learned the strike zone and how to get his pitch.

Olson’s Stockton teammate Daniel Robertson also had a terrific year, hitting .311 with 15 home runs while establishing himself as a solid defensive shortstop. This became particularly important when the A’s dealt away Addison Russell to acquire Jeff Samardzija for the pennant race.

In Olson and Robertson, the A’s could have two pieces to their future major league puzzle. “They grind out at-bats and have great attitudes. (I’m) very optimistic,” farm director Keith Lieppman said. “They are superb players, some of the best young players I’ve ever had at this maturity level for their age.

BEST PITCHER: In a rough year for pitchers in the organization, righthander Seth Streich stood out. Despite missing most of the last month with a shoulder injury, Streich put together a 9-6, 3.16 record with a 1.16 WHIP. He has impressed the A’s not only with his work on the mound, but with his dedication.

“Because of his preparation and work ethic, he has the structure that allows him to have success,” Lieppman said of the 23-year-old. “He was willing to take risks to improve his game. He used the changeup more, and the pitch improved.”

KEEP AN EYE ON: There will be many eyes on outfielder Boog Powell as he continues his career. He seemed to be having a breakthrough season when he was hit with a 50-game suspension in July for amphetamine use. A solid defensive center fielder, Powell began the year by hitting .335/.452/.429 with 53 walks in 69 games for low Class A Beloit. Promoted to Stockton for 14 games at the end of the season, he wound up leading the minors with a .351 on-base percentage.

A’s ACORNS

• After missing much of the year with knee and shoulder injuries, righthander Tanner Peters was selected to join the Arizona Fall League.

• Lefty Chris Lamb struck out 17 in seven innings for Stockton. The native of Berkeley, Calif., a short BART ride from O.co Coliseum, was an 11th-round pick out of Davidson.

Ugh, trading Dozier for Vargas is one of the worst decisions I've made in this league. I thought he'd contribute to my counting stats while riding that OF defense to a sub-4 ERA and putting up a ~2.5 K/BB, but he's been bombed pretty much every time out. Awful trade.

You traded something for Jason f***ing Vargas.? Idiot....

Man nearly every category is neck and neck North. If you didn't have doubles, I'd call this matchup a complete toss up. Realistically though, you have the edge when we factor in potential two starts from Price/Cueto/Carrasco.

Carrasco is pretty much the X factor incarnate.

Off topic, but I cringe every time I look and see Jake Arrieta throw a gem. Knowing he was just sitting on the waiver wire makes me sick.

:D

It's funny how a guy like that (or, say, DeGrom) just has his stock slowly creep upwards... from waiver wire fodder to rosterable SP7 to SP3 with strikeouts to.... an true Ace? All within like, 4 months.

Meanwhile, ~80 pitchers with "ace upside" will be owned in our league as MiLB players at any given time, and maybe 2 of them will ever become SP1 or SP2s.

Yeah that's the thing with those guys. They're such stock market assets. It's like.. "Do I immediately cash in before he allows 8 ER in a game and becomes worthless? Do I wait and let him keep building value?"

I consider both Kluber + Arrieta SP1s going into next year (being in a 20 team league). I was fortunate enough to own Arrieta in 4 leagues -- I doubt I ever get that lucky again in a fantasy year.

Was I actually chirped about the consolation playoffs?

Pretty sure still dreaming.

That's fine, I'll take 5th place if you don't want it (not that you had a chance!)

Just put up a fresh trade block on the Proboard. I've got quite a few starters available this offseason, for those shopping for pitching.

I'll be doing that early next week. Looking forward to the November trading season!

The consolation results are kind of stupid.

If in the postseason you go Win-Loss-Loss you finish fourth, but if you go Loss-Win-Win you finish fifth. It's an arbitrary way to order teams who just completed a lengthy and much-less-arbitrary season. Silvergun should hold onto his Monte Cristo title and never let go.

I agree, I'm a much better team than The True Cards, and would have stomped them into pulp this week.

Try finishing ahead of me for once brah.

Also, FU for turning on me after I took the time to help you troll silvergun.
