I use Matt Joyce a lot. He has a hit and SB this week, and is the only bat on my bench with Jennings shut fown.

Actually, behind Braun, Joyce has probably been my most valuable bat.

Damn. Not sure if I was below him or not but I'm terrible at checking the waiver wire. I would have definitely at least tried to snatch up a free closer if only to open up some trade scenarios. I was vactaioning in Alberta last week which doesn't help but I'm very negligent about monitoring waivers regardless.

Don't take this the wrong way, though how did your team make the playoffs with all those injuries and underachieving performances? Your pitching was rock solid though so I'm sure that was your biggest key. And you never had Abreu until the last week of August which makes it even more unbelievable.

deGrom is really good. It's annoying that silvergun acquired him for three old broken guys.

 

All pitching breaks eventually...deGrom already had shoulder issues this season. Not like he's immune. I'd rather spread my pitcher risk across three guys.

 

Opportunity cost was low as I would be cutting guys I didn't really want to keep anyway.
