I think you did really well here. Good move

I hope so... I don't have a lot of big pieces I can leverage anymore so I really wanted to make it count. My original plan was to try to create a package around one my elite relievers to nab a cornerstone guy but that's nearly impossible to do since the other owners value my relievers less than I do (I took a lot of heat for my Chapman trade). Getting a guy like Odorizzi who (hopefully) is on the upswing was probably the best I could do.

Anyone interested in Odor and/or Owings? I have a lot of middle infielders in my system so I'd like to diversify. I could package some young pitching and or picks in a deal if that helps.

But yeah, I don't really get this for silvergun. Starting CF and good young SP 4/5 to upgrade from Rondon to Jansen and get a couple of guys who won't likely make the cut. I do not like it. But really I love it.

Pretty fair trade, both teams helped their own causes. Kat got a starter that could be good in the future, but Silvergun got better this year. Jansen is a top closer and will collect a ton more SVs than Rondon, along with put up great ratios, Neshek will help with the rate stats too. I was actually after both those relievers. Davis and Jackson are close to being same for this year, only thing is Jackson is a little younger.

I'd say it's a fair trade. Odorizzi has a lot of appeal because he's young and already had some form of success. Jansen is locked in as the closer for an elite team. I might be biased though because I really hate Austin Jackson.

Man, how many times has Odorizzi been traded now? I drafted him and sent him to Boxy in the Zimmerman deal. Everyone ripped on Boxy for that at the time, but Zimmerman has continued to be plagued by injuries and is already transitioning to LF.

I think there's bias in how closers are perceived for fantasy. At first glance I thought "wow, great job by KingKat to get a good young pitcher in Odorizzi and only give up a closer." But really, Jansen would probably go right around Odorizzi if we redrafted and possibly higher.

If Austin Jackson isn't going to run or hit for power or average, it'll be hard for him to amass value. Worth buying low on for an owner like KingKat though. Taking timelines into account, I think this is fair.

Kingkat is his 4th owner, it's funny how many guys have been hot potato'd like that.

Personally, trading him has more to do with worrying he'll tire out as he reaches uncharted IP territory this year than lack of belief in his future, and I'm out to slay some freaking giants.

KingKat has owned Zimmerman in the past too lol. I remember I was ripped for initially flipping Zimmerman to Boxy for Beltre.

Moved Zimmerman for Odor and something... I didn't own him too long. I was afraid his value would tank.

Pfft nobody even remembers that.

Good thing they can click on that little blue thing in the quote bar and see your dumnness first hand.

Jake Lamb is already getting the call. He's the highest player drafted in June to make the Majors, edging Chris Taylor. Great pick FTD.

Goodbye Beckett, we had fun together.

Damn, him and CC shelved while Owens continues to climb the ladder, that didn't quite pan out heh.

Anything you got from Beckett had to be considered a bonus though.

I still don't regret that trade.

Yeah it's more of a last laugh for the ridicule, not the trade as a whole. Wheeler's been the better player since the trade and is probably the more valuable asset.

Where was this supposed ridicule for Matt Kemp? I seem to recall North making some absurd claims about Kemp being an elite talent, but I don't ever remember anyone saying Kemp was anything but a good (if injury-plagued) player.

I ridiculed North for calling him a legit MVP candidate. And given his 0.6 fWAR, I still do. North, your dumn.

0.2 fWAR in the last two seasons

It's not ridicule, but you said on June 10th that I should have kept Choo instead of Kemp :P
