BTS Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Making myself useful besides setting Hurl's lineups lol Please neglect those responsibilities this week. Thx, Your BBDL Co-Manager
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Gattis likely done for the year. The reports I've seen say 2+ weeks, but nothing about being done for the year.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 The reports I've seen say 2+ weeks, but nothing about being done for the year. Just reporting what I heard from jaysfan2014, who's always on point. Goodnight, sweet oso blanco.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 I'd just like to say... Jesse f***ing Hahn.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Please neglect those responsibilities this week. Thx, Your BBDL Co-Manager I'm probably good on my own until the weekend this week. I got you in the PL too...I'm sure the results will be similar to what happened in "The League" last week. I'd like to add my interesting stats last week where I won every counting stat except for strikeouts...but lost every single rate stat. That's not easy to do.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 And my s***** luck continues. Tear it down and start over.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Good job GD, but it doesn't look right with me sharing a tier with those underlings.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Damn, Boxy's team is worse than my team is good.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Good job GD, but it doesn't look right with me sharing a tier with those underlings. Get over .700 and I will welcome you as my overlord.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Do they even sell something as fancy as champagne in London?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Do they even sell something as fancy as champagne in London? Their champagne is just beer mixed with Big 8 club soda.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Tear it down and start over. I think I might have too. Seems like the only reasonable thing to do.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Ok I'm back from the cottage. As far as the rental player topic goes, I'm going to have to side with the league and insist that Boxy and RJ tradesies backsies. It's just not something I think we should dip into, not a precedent we want set. Renting Odorizzi for a 2nd rounder might seem tame enough but things would get messy and unfair fast if people started renting out elite players for first rounders, yada yada yada. No rentals!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 AND you broke him? God dammit Boxy. Enjoy!
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Pretty impressive that Speedy's team is hangin' in there. I'm still bitter over you sniping Tony Sipp on me, which is probably the first time that sentence has been formed. Just got Bryce back too. Playoff appearance isn't out of the question yet, I face Havok GP and Boxy in the next few weeks. Haha, so true. Tony has been quite nice!

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 If anyone has a playable C that they'd trade for Torii Hunter or Bronson Arroyo, hit me up. I'm looking for someone to platoon with Salty. I could also part with Kris Medlen or Chris Archer, but I'd be aiming a little higher in that case.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Trades I regret: James Shields for Yordano & Giolito - Ugh. Really hoping that he doesn't sign w the Yankees next year Freddie Freeman for Choo + MiLB parts (via Price) - I replaced Freeman's production at UTIL with Ortiz, but Choo has been a big disappointment lately Sonny Gray, Rasmus, Asdrubal for Ian Desmond & Kyle Crick - Thought I was selling high on Gray, who I nabbed as a 4th round MiLB pick in our 2nd MiLB draft. Desmond has been average while Gray has emerged as a legit SP2 There are probably some others that I can't remember, but these stand out in my recent memory. Anybody else willing to revisit their terrible transactions?
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2014 Author Posted July 2, 2014 Belt for Salazar I think this is one that was fair in context, but worked out terribly. Bauer for Olt I don't really think I'll ever miss Bauer dearly, but I still picked him in the top 6 rounds of our big league start up draft and then sold him at the absolute worst time and didn't even get a keeper piece. Corbin+Cingrani for Alex Gordon I used to really regret doing that ^ deal, but it's funny how things turn around. At this point in time I really like my end of it, obviously. I also regret cutting/dropping CoCo Crisp and trading Wily Peralta for almost nothing and trading Jimmy Nelson for almost nothing (but not really). I'm experiencing recent bias here, surely there are more from S1 that I would regret. Cano for Chris Davis isn't looking great right now, but I maintain hope. At least Cano is experiencing the expected SafeCo power outage.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Neil Walker for picks 60 and 100 in 2013 I had no use for him because Jedd Gyorko would be manning 2B going forward. f***. Pick 39 for Wade Davis last year Thought Davis would be a quality SP4/5. Ended up dropping him. Picking Brett Lawrie in the 2nd round Not a trade, but easily the worst decision I've made in this league. Decent chance I end up regretting my Harvey/Braun trade too. For the most part I can look over my trade history without regret. I tend to avoid moves with potential to bite me in the ass down the road.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I regret throwing in Miguel Montero to my trade for Mauer with jays_fever last year. Montero's bounced back to previous levels and having him would have allowed me to flip McCann or trade Mauer without receiving a catcher in return. The five-team deal didn't work out as hoped because Prince has been a zero, but Rizzo broke out as expected so I'm doing okay. I don't regret making the deal.
TRM Verified Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Oh man...yours aren't even that bad, step aside. Trading Pick 1 (Bryant) + Parnell for Fister + B. Hamilton (both later moved with parts for Upton.) I needed a pitcher to try and keep pace in my division and reasoned pick 1 was a lottery luxury worth cashing in. Fister was not going to save that sinking ship, bad decision. Trading Wily Peralta for Berkman and a middling pick. Peralta instantly turned his career around, Berkman sucked for a short while before getting injured and retiring. His decline was so precipitous I was hoping he was due to rebound and really needed a bat after CarGo went down. Ouch. Trading Khrush + Morton for Liriano + Lake I felt like Davis was too good to sit on my bench after I traded for Upton (probably right) and thought if Liriano could put up 80% of his 2013 he'd help a lot (definitely wrong.) I did not want Lake and was reluctant to include Morton. Hitting accept was pretty stupid, really. Releasing Aybar after trading for Villar. Oops! I also have night terrors involving thrashing around while screaming DONALDSON!!! but not sure what that's about. Thanks for Aybar and some other dude named John Davidson, or something.
TRM Verified Member Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I have some bad ones. CarGo2.0 for Samalphabet, Lucroy for peanuts, Ryu for Grandal stick out.
