GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 What the f*** are the Brewers doing with Fiers? He's a 29 year old not some 22 year prospect. He's a great trade candidate for someone even if he probably only gives you two solid seasons before he is worthless. Just to let you know I've been setting your lineups every day since I took over. Haven't made any moves but everyone who needs to start has started.

Haven't made any moves but everyone who needs to start has started. I'm doing 3pm to 2am right now. So I usually look when I wake up but glad to hear you are checking it. I still think my team is the best bottom 5 team ever.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 He's been pooing on my team here aswell. On a sidenote, Grant hasn't been active since April, you can just take his spot, seeing as you run the league and all. We'll see I guess. It's hard to imagine I can claw my way out of this hole.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I feel you pain with Choo. He's been an almost surefire 0-4 for over a calendar month now.

I think past champions get saved from relegation before winless commissioners.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 Woah Woah Woah. I think past champions get saved from relegation before winless commissioners. This is an actual rule though. Didn't we establish that past champions can't get relegated for two years?
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 25, 2014 Author Posted June 25, 2014 This is an actual rule though. Didn't we establish that past champions can't get relegated for two years? Wait, so I'm still paying attention to that team for no reason?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Down 14-0 to Gibbers. FML. Its the week of the upset across the league.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Nah, it's not. Dammit. How did you do that!? I was up 8-2 like a few hours ago f***ing cheater
torontofan Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Looking to trade Cruz, have at least one interesting offer so far. If anyone is interested send me a offer. Cheers!
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Wait, so I'm still paying attention to that team for no reason? you were better off making us think you weren't paying attention. I'm not sure what happened but after your draft I declared you the second place favourite. It must be a kiss of death.

It's gotta be at least what Brandon Moss returned, right? Take them to the cleaners! Cruz is an elite slugger and should return multiple top prospects plus a 1st rounder.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Moss >> Cruz for me. I see what you're doing here though, and I don't like it. Cruz is having a great season, but he's not a Top 25 player in fantasy baseball moving forward. He'll hit for above average power, though he's not an .OBP machine and its not like he's a threat to hit 40-45 HR's like an EE or someone.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 No, but I wouldn't have traded a 1st for Moss last year either. Things change quickly in baseball.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Moss >> Cruz for me. I see what you're doing here though, and I don't like it. Sniffing out the bidder and driving up the price? I quite enjoy doing that when negotiations go public. This is why I operate under the radar and try to finalize deals quickly whenever possible.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Cockblocking my competitors and bleeding them of their best MiLB assets is all in a day's work.

Things do change quickly in baseball, though that doesn't still change the fact that he'll be 35 next season, and that the last couple of years in Texas he hasn't been anything special or "elite" as you describe.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 You never helped driving up the price for Tulo when he was on the block Silvio, nobody can drive your prices any higher than they already are.

He's on pace for 45 HR. As a competitor, either you pay the toll to acquire talent like that, or someone else will.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Moss >> Cruz for me. I see what you're doing here though, and I don't like it. Moving forward this year, either could outperform the other. One is 3 years older though. I also would rather have Moss.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 I'm surprised, with all the love for Moss, that some of you contenders didn't think to make an offer for him earlier, when KK has clearly stated his intention to rebuild. BTS, surely you could have landed him for Syndergaard + a 1st, at the most.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 There had been inquiries but I had shot them down pretty quickly. I really wasn't shopping him. I think the smart thing Dinger did is not waste time with the "what do you want" discussion. He made an offer and it was pretty good. I wasn't looking to move Moss in the abstract but I liked the idea of getting a 1st rounder for him and I really really like Almonte which is something he knew. It all went very quickly after I turned down his initial offer. To be honest, it never occured to me that the market value was that high on Moss. He's not going to look this good by the end of the season and I'm surprised people are so keen to buy high on him. If I can get a prospect I've been coveting for about a year and a 1st rounder for a thirty year old journeyman that works for me.
