Contending is the ultimate goal, but rebuilds can be quite satisfying as well.

I'll tell you first hand, winning this league is the greatest feeling you can experience (fantasy wise). You feel incredibly satisfied after putting countless hours into ranking, drafting, trading, and managing. Then there's the relief knowing that the first title you've won is out of the way. Even when you're a top contender, the probability of winning is a crapshoot. The best team could end up losing each year, and eventually get shutout completely as their window expires. We'll see long title-less droughts in this league, so when you're able to win it all and pop your title cherry, you appreciate it that much more.

The euphoria you experience over the course of the playoffs is amazing. You win that first matchup and it starts to sink in that you're only two more victories away from the title. Then, you go right down to the wire against another tough opponent and pull off another win. Reality checks in that you're only 7 days away from being the champ if you can beat one last opponent. Then there's that last Sunday, oh my, that last Sunday.. D-Day. It can make or break a season (as it did for me in 2013). When the last pitch is thrown in the last west coast game, and you refresh the scoreboard one more time and see you just become the champion.. it's nirvana.

Now picture that, but after years of rebuilding. I imagine it would be even more satisfying.

I hate you so much right now.

At this point I have so many guys on my board that I have the opposite reaction when one gets picked lol.

It's hard to differentiate between them. Hitters have tools, may or may not be performing at a low level. Pitchers have stuff but some control issues. If a guy gets popped it makes my job easier.

I know what you mean. Like when Peraza got popped, I still have a list of other names.

But it's because in the back of your head, as the draft goes on, part of you believes there's a slight chance you might get all those guys you want. For instance, a small part of me was believing I could get Lamb, Thompson, McMahon, Peraza, Lively from all of my picks in the 30s and 40s. When it got to 23 and none had been taken, I was so hopeful.

Okay so I have to go to work in 30 minutes and I won't be home til 11. Is there someone I can send my picks to who

a) doesn't have an upcoming pick themselves (no picks in the 30-50 range) and

B) doesn't think they'll be trading up (ex. if they see a guy I'm taking and think "oh I thought he would go later, maybe I should trade up and grab him).

Contending is the ultimate goal, but rebuilds can be quite satisfying as well. I haven't had time to see results yet, but promoting Taveras, Singleton, Polanco, Ventura, Paxton, and Montero this year has been quite exciting. Adding Tanaka and hopefully getting Bundy back. Sure hope this works :P

I honestly can't wait to promote Jesse Winker during a week against Dinger's geriatrics where he hits 2 bombs on Sunday with 3 walks to turn over 4 categories to me.

Cats offered to do it because his farm is full and he has no more picks.

But Cats, your mailbox is full. Delete a few so I can send ya something.

Stupid mailbox limits. Done.

Jays Fever has no more picks, I believe. He should be everyone's short list guy.

I love that you're counting on him to be fantasy relevent.

Third consecutive year with a 13+% walk rate, sub-20% k rate and .385+ wOBA. 151 wRC+ this year! Also, power is developing as planned. So when is he gonna hit that wall against advanced pitching?

.308/.410/.538 in A+ as a 20 year old.

50 H 50 P corner outfield profile. Wish I could say I was just trolling you.

Matt Holliday turned out pretty well as that guy.

Matt Holliday is/was like a 65/60 guy. There's a reason why Winker hasn't made all the Top 100 lists.

Alright, Kevin Youkilis then.

Markakis was a generous enough comp.

Markakis was really freaking fantasy relevant before his steep decline.

Matt Kemp didn't made those fancy lists and now he's the best player in the National League. Don't let Dinger push you around, Boxy. Stand by what you believe in.

Definitely, but Winker has below average batspeed and no arm, so we'll see if he ever gets that far.

Oh, you're adding assists next year? Don't we have to vote on that?

Dinger doesn't push me around!

You stating Kemp is the best player doesn't help Boxy's case. If anything it actually hurts it.

The trolling that will take place if Winker becomes Kevin Youkilis is going to be epic.

I'm surprised at what a pathetic shell of his former self Kemp has become, I expected a bounceback. Well, that's shoulder injuries for you.

N49 probably should have kept Choo instead.

If anything, I am the nicest Darrell to you!

I just happen to disagree with your evaluation of a prospect and I tend not to sugarcoat my opinions.
