Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Nice Peraza pick North. I don't expect much with the bat but the speed is obviously legit.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Yesterday's top 50 prospects, today's trash! Get your hot, steaming failures here! Why do I get the feeling all 6 of your 2015 picks will be traded by the end of the month.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Why do I get the feeling all 6 of your 2015 picks will be traded by the end of the month. I have a feeling picks in rounds 3-6 won't hold much value. Seeing as how many have been disposed of this year. And how easy they are to get.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Nice Peraza pick North. I don't expect much with the bat but the speed is obviously legit. Peraza will hit, just not for much power. Jose Altuve with more speed and can play SS if the Braves trade him. We're very excited to have join the pharm.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Why do I get the feeling all 6 of your 2015 picks will be traded by the end of the month. I will absolutely be trading my 1st and 2nd rouders ASAP. You know, if I can spot a hole on my team.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Turner could be a 40-50 SB guy. This is how I talked myself into drafting Everth in PL.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Normally I would agree, but dinger can spin straw into gold. He'll probably flip a 6th rounder for a stud SP. Oh you! *blush*

NOTE TO LEAGUE!!!: If anyone is going to trade a stud SP to Dinger for his 1st and 2nd rounders. I'd be willing to offer the same... EXCEPT my picks will be better!

We're very excited to have join the pharm. Although Altuve did show more pop and a marginally better walk rate in the minors. Maybe I'm just being sour grapes because I wanted Peraza.

Waino Bumgarner Sale Anibal Shields Archer Buerhle Garza Medlen Arroyo I think that's probably adequate for a 20 teamer. If I'm looking for anything it's a long-term 3B or a super utility type.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Jaysblue sighting. He'll probably pick soon which will put Spanky on the clock. I have a dental appointment so I'll be back around 12-12:30 to pick at 34.

I don't think you need anymore pitching. But you may think you need more pitching... I actually think your team has too many All-Stars. That many big heads on one team will never work. You should probably trade some away for some late picks or Davidson or something.
TRM Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Shocked Nola and Turner fell so far. Also Tellez is a hilariously bad pick. I wss thrilled to get Nola where I did. I mean, super unsexy and still a pitcher so the risk is there, but as an older team with hopes of contending, the pitcher with the fastest teack to the majors and most likely to not bust out fit perfectly. Who wants to wait five years for prospects anyway?

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Gibbers is a hard one to figure out. I don't understand most of the decisions he makes.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 You just have to look at the big picture.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Gibbers is a hard one to figure out. I don't understand most of the decisions he makes. His farm is pretty weak for a team in 19th place. Drafting Osuna ahead of numerous Top 50 arms in the initial draft didn't help. For a guy who's so indifferent to the Jays, he sure reaches for their prospects frequently.

Couldn't I just grab Moustakas off the FA pile if I wanted that player? I assume Moose is a FA at this point, without actually looking.

For a guy who's so indifferent to the Jays, he sure reaches for their prospects frequently. Yeah I noticed that. Frazier is his only prospect that I think much of (although Baez was promoted). When Torontofan posted in here that Gibbers took Rowdy Tellez at 11 I thought it was a joke. Would any of us know who that guy is if some other team drafted him? He has more MLB talent than Boxy, but I think Boxy could be a contender sooner. I wss thrilled to get Nola where I did. I mean, super unsexy and still a pitcher so the risk is there, but as an older team with hopes of contending, the pitcher with the fastest teack to the majors and most likely to not bust out fit perfectly. Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I think boxy will have an intriguing team by 2016, and I don't mean that in my typical backhanded way.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Boxy is moving up. I felt he was lacking high upside SP prospects. But he obviously fixed that in this draft.
TRM Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Is it wrong I'm kind of excited for my rebuild in t minus two years?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Is it wrong I'm kind of excited for my rebuild in t minus two years? Contending is the ultimate goal, but rebuilds can be quite satisfying as well. I haven't had time to see results yet, but promoting Taveras, Singleton, Polanco, Ventura, Paxton, and Montero this year has been quite exciting. Adding Tanaka and hopefully getting Bundy back. Sure hope this works

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 Ok, I've done enough research that I can now start legitimately being disappointed when guys are sniped ahead of me. Haha same. Last year I had to sit through posts of "AWWWW" and "NOOOOOOOO", while I'm just like "right.. I um.. know who that guy is.. damn.." Now I actually have a list prepared and it's killing me when some of these guys get selected. You grow so attached to the prospect of owning them.

At this point I have so many guys on my board that I have the opposite reaction when one gets picked lol. It's hard to differentiate between them. Hitters have tools, may or may not be performing at a low level. Pitchers have stuff but some control issues. If a guy gets popped it makes my job easier.
