BTS Community Moderator Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Speaking of Gordons, Alex Gordon is now up to a .355 wOBA with a career low K%. It makes me soooooooo happy that he might possibly still be very good at baseball. Goddamn, it seems like his wRC+ was at 90 like two weeks ago.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 Yup, it was getting pretty bleak. Maybe Billy Butler can draft upwards behind him? Starting next week of course.

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 After my deal with Cats, I'm looking to add one more pick for the MiLB draft. I'm interested in moving 34 or 42 for two higher picks (one close to the pick I'm giving, one a bit further). Not something like 65 + 60 for 42 though.

You want to give up one pick and get two higher picks in return?
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 You want to give up one pick and get two higher picks in return? I guess I should have said lower. By higher I meant numerically higher. 34 or 42 for two picks worse than that pick.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Nice to see Beltre get going. His numbers are finally where they should be. We're still slugging .408 on the season as a team though. 1st in OBP, 12th in SLG.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Anyone looking to deal somekind of starter? Looking for someone who won't kill my rate stats...
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Anyone looking to deal somekind of starter? Looking for someone who won't kill my rate stats... Tom Koehler and Bronson Arroyo are willing to waive their NTCs to go to the WAR Puigs.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 You won't even be able to make you innings limit... At what point is it considered intentional tanking?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I've reached the innings limit the whole year and not even close to a bottom 3 record, but thanks for the concern
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 5, 2014 Author Posted June 5, 2014 I'm not a huge fan of the competitive balance implications when a guy is rolling out one active SP... But you also need to take into account unexpected injuries they are currently experiencing, upcoming real life promotions to their NA players or activations to their DL players, and the competitiveness of their offense. We've never really had to answer the question of when tanking becomes "tanking", so I don't really know. I think we can all agree that tanking for a high draft / waiver slot is a terrible, terrible strategy in this league, and likely all a team would be doing is setting themself up for a half decade of having no chance at the playoffs.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 How is giving up on K's and W's tanking? Ive had 7 pitchers go down this year who I plan on keeping long term. Sorry If i choose to roster triple A players on my roster and add more prospects than fill it with waiver wire thrash
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Just activated Nicolino. Dumping Fulmer.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I'm not sure I understand the substance of the discussion above. Is somone not fielding a full roster?
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Do i just say on here which prospects i am dropping??
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Tyson Ross + 32 for Howie Kendrick + 66. Sorry Spanky!
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 6, 2014 Author Posted June 6, 2014 Tyson Ross + 32 for Howie Kendrick + 66. Sorry Spanky! Yuck!

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I like this deal for jaysblue. I like Ross more than Howie at this point, so adding the draft pick upgrade as well is a bit surprising.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Stay classy Sil. Greasy move. Not a greasy move. You splurged that you traded Sanchez for Kendrick on the board when nothing was ever mutually agreed upon. Also, all I was asking to be included was a reliever with huge control problems or a player just demoted to the minors and you freaked out when I asked for that on top of Sanchez. Don't want to start an argument with you, as I hope we can continue our relationship and still travel together and sample great tasting beers.

I like Ross more than Howie at this point, so adding the draft pick upgrade as well is a bit surprising. Leaves me without a starting second baseman this season, though I'm more retooling for 2015. Hopefully Profar is ready for next season to step in as my starter at second base. BTS gets a good bat at second base who'll provide above average production from that position. Ross' advanced stats were really good. His xFIP and SIERA weren't that much higher than his ERA and his SwStr% is third best in all of baseball. Hopefully he holds up as a starter, and pitching in San Diego is icing on the cake.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
