So there's been interesting developments with my farm. With Profar out and Odor starting to hit, it might actually be viable to activate him. Combine that with my recent trade of Ed Rodriguez and I suddenly have a bit of room to work with on the farm. I might actually take on some extra picks for MLB assetts. Nothing sexy just rosterable players for late picks kind of trades.

Calling up Rafael Montero... didn't want too but my stoopid rotation is injured, re-injured, and soon to be injured...

If any team is in a serious pick bind, feel free to get creative with a pick for pick trade offer to me. I probably won't do anything unless it's a serious discount.

I have twelve picks so we could get something done. A third and a fifth for a second?

You must be trippin'.

Meh, there's honestly not really any difference between #34 and #61. If you see a pick trade that works, send me a PM.

I couldn't disagree more. For me, there's no real difference between 50-60 and 120.

You can still find breakout A/AA players in the first 40 picks. At 55+ the picks become more of a lottery ticket. I place little to no value on anything past 90 because there's a 90% chance they end up being my cut guys for the 2015 draft.

You and I aren't a great fit. I'm looking for a team that has a loaded farm with their back against the wall. A team that would rather take a 10 spot upgrade than see a mid-round pick go to waste.

I see the tiers as 1-3, 4-12, 13-30, 31-65, 66-100, 101-120. Yeah I guess we're not. You're looking to extract extra value and I'm looking for lateral value moves.

Exactly. I'm not going to lie about it. I'm looking for a pick deal where I win value wise, but where it's still better than the other party wasting the value of their picks. If I can't find a deal like this, I'll just use my current four picks to fill out my farm.

That being said, I still don't think a deal like 34 for 61 + 93 is even close to "lateral value".

What kind of a chump offer is that?

He'd obviously prefer 41 and 50.

32 + 56 >> all that noise

23 for 39 and 52 is the best I could do :P

Something like this is a reasonable offer. It's two picks before the significant drop off in pick value, and 52 isn't bad for a 16 pick downgrade. I'll keep it in mind z3r0s. We're still a week or two away from the cutoff!

This is what I had in mind though. Parting with the 23 or 34 to people who realize the premium value of the higher picks.

You can't say 23 for 33 < 60 for 90 because one is a 30 pick upgrade over a 10 pick upgrade.

If everybody wants to wait a month then we can, but last year we did it right after the MLB draft. If a player doesn't sign you can still keep him.

Couldn't you guys do a compensation structure similar to the MLB? Just a thought.

So does Billy Butler suck now? It's pretty rare for a guy with such a consistent track record to fall off the map at 28, right?

It's not like it's COMPLETELY out of nowhere. 2013 = worst wRC+ since his rookie/sophomore seasons, worst HR total and ISO since that same time, and an ALARMING spike in GB% (I'm guessing groundballs don't turn into singles very often for country breakfast).

But yeah, those are mostly hindsight, post facto indicators. I do think it's fair to conclude that his talent level isn't what it used to be though. Or, something has changed in his approach.

It's like him and the entire f***ing Royals roster have been specifically told to beat the ball into the dirt. They are 2nd highest in GB% in baseball, behind only SDP. Worst ISO in baseball by almost 0.020 points...

5 combined homeruns for Gordon, Hosmer, and Butler through like 650 PA. Weird.

For some reason, I thought we had already implemented that change but maybe that was our Junior Varsity league. I thought the argument for doing it later was pretty sound but maybe the counter-argument is that a month might be enough time to forget what you thought you knew about the current draft class as the draft coverage fades in the memory (this may only apply to olds like me).

Butler and Hosmer are killing me in my 30-team dynasty salary league. Just awful. The whole Royals lineup like Nick said hasn't hit for any power whatsoever.

My lineup is finally free of Padres, Royals and Mariners.

Just picked up Anthony Gose to help my outfield. Does awesome range and defense count towards anything?

Sheeeit. My starting lineup has two Padres, a Royal, and a Giant. Feels pretty bad.
