That was my thought process. Miggy loses 3B eligibility and Carp loses 2B, so I slide them over and deal from 1B, where I had 4 viable options.

It's a very fair deal and good for both sides. I hate it that dinger now gets the higher floored player though. I was hoping for that chance that Chris Davis regresses back to 2012 Chris Davis. With Cano, you pretty much know what you're getting.

 

I think Davis has the higher ceiling, Cano has the higher floor. Either way both players are going to be very valuable.

I think Davis will land between 35-40 HR with about a 130-140 wRC+. If he's the player he was last year I'll lose the trade, but at least I'll have the pre-eminent 2B for the next few years. I just hope Safeco doesn't kill Cano too much. He'll lose some HR, but I actually expect his walk rate to spike this year and he might have a shot at a .400 OBP.
