jon morosi @jonmorosi

with brandon beachy, decreased velocity and early exit were not what braves needed amid kris medlen uncertainty.

Jon morosi @jonmorosi

brandon beachy said he experienced "discomfort" in right biceps. Said he was unable to finish and locate pitches as he wanted.

Jon morosi @jonmorosi

i asked beachy if there would be a point in spring training when he tried to ramp up velocity again. "i tried," he said.

That's probably nothin.

It's such a big difference in fantasy value if Santana signs with Atlanta vs Toronto.

I've got a share of Big Erv, kinda pulling for him to land in ATL.

Hard to believe that guy is going to turn things around at this point. What a waste of talent.

Well, we all know results don't matter in spring training. Someone watching the game tweeted that he was sitting 96-98 with every fastball (averaged 92.6 in the bigs last year).

Those guys are all doing it wrong. This is how a home run swing is supposed to look:

Round #3 of Medlen vs. Beachy, the spaghetti arm throwdown:

Wait, when did Spanky get back into the big leagues?

I want to say JaysFever couldn't make the draft, so Spank and him changed spots. Sucks but at least we get a hilarious knob jockey back in the league.

I really hope I didn't misremember who needed to swap.

my god, I really want to draft GS in BBDL. If healthy, would you guys take him over goldy?

As a fantasy player, I don't think Stanton will ever be as good as Goldy was last year. He won't hit for that average, he won't steal the bases, and he's in an absolutely terrible lineup for R & RBI. He could hit 50 HR some year, and it could be this year, but there's a lot of risk with his injury history and K rate. Goldy is a much safer and more proven commodity at this point.

I'm putting Medlen on the block. If you want to take a shot on his post-TJS upside (assuming he has TJS), and you have a piece that can help my team this year, shoot me a PM or offer.

In a dynasty league, I still prefer Stanton to Goldy. He's two years younger and has accomplished more at a younger age than Goldy has. I love Goldy as well, though I doubt he maintains that BA and he likely peaked with his SB numbers the past two seasons.

Stanton is younger, yet he is the one with a chronic injury already. Goldy has a higher career wRC+ (although barely) and an MVP calibre season on his resume, so to say Stanton has accomplished more is pretty debatable.

I agree with statement, but HR is such a premium stat a in 20+ team league, if someone guarantee his health and 40+ HR, it would be debatable. Also Fan's graphs projections show goldy regressing this year and there's steal+ potential in later rounds

This feels like a great opportunity for Boxy. Buy low on another arm that won't help this year but should help going forward.

What does Boxy have to offer though? Dinger wants pieces that can help him this year. I guess he could do a three-way.

I still shake my head after my friend Nick traded Goldy for Kyle Drabek in the FC league lol. One of the worst trades I'd say ever made in the history of fantasy baseball dynasty leagues.

I expect Goldy to regress in 2014. Steamer and Zips projections are fairly accurate in my opinion. I'd likely more lean towards Steamer.

jaysfever is the man to go to. He likes stockpiling injured arms and has Morrow if I remember correctly.

I was looking at that, but he could probably get a better offer elsewhere.

Would you trade Medlen for Ervin Santana?
