jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Me too, hit me up! We've never made a trade in any league! #breaktheice #HashtagsNotOnTwitter Yeah we did. I think I traded you Aaron Sanchez and Joel Hanrahan for Tim Lincecum last year in the FC league lol
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Does anyone else make imaginary lineups for their fantasy team? 2B Carpenter LF Craig 3B Miggy 1B Crush DH Ortiz SS Desmond C Gattis RF Torii CF Gardner I probably sketch these out in a notepad on a weekly basis like a total f***ing loser. Haha sometimes I will be on a computer and just randomly type out my entire team to stare at it and brainstorm.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I really hope Ortiz goes Paul Konerko on you this year. Nobody deserves it more. It's our only chance.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 With arguably the two most valuable dynasty pitchers, and 3 of the top 5. I think Kershaw is a slam dunk #1. I would have no objections to Fernandez as #2 in someone's ranks though.

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 We'll see. I do have my concerns. Your rebuild (if you can even call it that lol) has been very impressive. It's crazy to think the team that finished 19th last year, might make the playoffs next year. I think you're going to make that scenario a reality though.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I can't get over the trainwreck that was my Rule IV draft. I completely whiffed on a lot of the picks. My strategy has done a complete 180 going into next year's.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I prefer Sale, but any choice is a good choice. But with wins being counted and their current teams, Kershaw should be 1. Sale over Kershaw?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I'd take Kershaw for the ERA and Winz, but it's worth noting that Sale bested him in K rate, BB rate, velo, GB%, and he's younger. If you remove the team and park context, theres a case for it; but of course baseball isn't played in a vacuum.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Sale's slider is also probably a top 5 pitch in baseball.

Laika Community Moderator Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Yeah we did. I think I traded you Aaron Sanchez and Joel Hanrahan for Tim Lincecum last year in the FC league lol Ohhh, true. Aaron Sachez for Timmy seems like a trade that probably won't work out for either party.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 In a vacuum so to speak..if youre starting a team in real life. No way you can take Sale over Kershaw if youre projecting 5 years out. Even 3. The numbers are close enough where 6'3 220 vs 6'6 180 make it a pretty easy choice for me. I understand theres freaks every generation that defy physics.. But i think you have to play the odds.. Lincy couldnt hold up over the years at 5'11 180 Its kind of similiar to RGIII vs Luck debate 2 years ago
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Amongst many others, lol. Not Hudson, just to be clear lol
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 The Pharm's lineup: 1. RF Shin-Soo Choo 2. CF Andrew McCutchen 3. C Joe Mauer 4. 3B Adrian Beltre 5. DH Prince Fielder 6. LF Matt Kemp 7. 2B Jason Kipnis 8. 1B Anthony Rizzo 9. SS Jed Lowrie I've been debating how to arrange the first three in my head for months lol.
TRM Verified Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 After a lengthy absence I have returned to show you what a phenomenal lineup really looks like. 1. 3B Josh Donaldson 2. RF Alex Rios 3. SS Hanley Ramirez 4. LF Giancarlo Stanton 5. DH Matt Holliday 6. CF Adam Jones 7. C Jarrod Salty 8. RF Alexis Rios 9. 2B Martin Prado

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Fun fact: Steamer projects my pitching staff at 23.2 WAR and yours at a paltry 16.6. #No49spitchingstaffisgarbage What's mine?
TRM Verified Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Well I'm gonna go away for another three weeks after that egregious JPA level error. I quit.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Well if we're doing whole staff, I want another 1.5 for Koji.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 You mean 2.2. I am engorged.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Jesus Christ. I hate Dinger so much right now. U like my relief ace brah?
TRM Verified Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 No need for anyone to crown dinger until he at least wins a playoff series. Guys a scrub. He has as many playoff wins as the jays do since 1993.
