Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Who actually is named Darrel because I know all your real names now kgm started calling Nox and Dinger Darrell (I think it's based on some old people thing) and then I guess Nick latched on somehow even though kgm likes him. BTS tries hard to be a Darrell but he just doesn't have what it takes.
TRM Verified Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Me and BTS are Norman's>>> Darrels (I am actively removing myself from the league site already for this comment)

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I'm still looking for a CF upgrade. I'm open to moving Shields, Ryu, Medlen, or Acher, or two of them. I'd also listen to offers on Chapman but I'm operating under the assumption that he'll be converted based on the Reds personnel moves.

TRM Verified Member Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I'm looking to get down to the 20 keeper player range. Players that could probably be keeper worthy on some teams that won't make the cut on my team are available: for draft picks, prospects, throw ins to get my team younger, throw in's for a position upgrade (SP prerferably), whatever. I'm open to anything. If any of these players are of interest to you, send me an email. (I got locked out of the proboards site and don't know how to get back on... doh!): Grandal/Salty Ryan Howard Robbie Erlin Wandy Rodriguez K-Rod Chris Perez Tommy Hunter Anyone else on the team is available too, but not actively looking to shop them. If you are interested in any of my lineup, sexy relievers, or steady starters, give me a holler!
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 If I were a rebuilding team or had the space I would definitely take a shot on Grandal (again).

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Don't feel too bad, I traded Alex Gordon for Grandal in my other league. If the knee didn't assplode it would look a lot differently. Although I do appreciate Ryu's 2.7 ERA and 6 K/BB in the 2nd half!

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I'm shopping Shin-Soo Choo for a pitcher. If you need a #1 outfielder (one of 20 players ever to go 20-20-.420) and can offer a #1/2 fantasy starter, send me an email or PM. I'm hoping to get something done by Friday.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Is anyone willing to move down in the waiver picks in exchange for moving up in MiLB picks? If yes, let me know.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Off topic question: In a salary dynasty league, would you move Domonic Brown, Brett Lawrie and Brandon Morrow for Jose Fernandez?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Off topic question: In a salary dynasty league, would you move Domonic Brown, Brett Lawrie and Brandon Morrow for Jose Fernandez? I'm going to be a bit of a dick here but I don't understand why people ask questions about salary league trades without listing the salaries. In this case, my guess is that it's worth it but it all depends on the salaries involved.

So Brown is making 0.5 M and then Arb eligible for the next 3 years after that; same with Lawrie. Morrow is making 9 million in 2014. I figure Morrow is someone who you really can't rely on, Brown is replaceable especially when the league has free agency. Lawrie can be the deal breaker (if he realizes his full potential; or if he is a bust).

Yeah, I don't think Lawrie ever goes out there and produces David Wright numbers like many people think. I don't think he ever becomes a force in fantasy as in real life.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Yeah, I don't think Lawrie ever goes out there and produces David Wright numbers like many people think. I don't think he ever becomes a force in fantasy as in real life. IRL is different because his defense is so good. In real life, he would provide tremendous value if he were merely healthy. In fantasy, he'd have to be both healthy and take a huge offensive stride. Edited November 25, 2013 by KingKat

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Off topic question: In this 30-team salary dynasty league I'm in would you do this deal: I trade: SS Ian Desmond (arb, arb) SP Jon Niese (7M 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017) 3B Brett Lawrie (PreArb) SP Brandon Morrow (9 M) C Wellington Castillo (PreArb) I get: SP Jose Fernandez (0.5 M) Its tough trading Desmond. As for Lawrie I don't think he's anything special in fantasy baseball as in real life. I save money by moving Niese and Morrow, who I should be able to replace through free agency.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Depends on FA, you'd really be hurting if Jose has a Harvey-Strasburg thing (Tommy John!) Yeah I know. The tough part would be replacing Desmond at short. Peralta, Drew would be FA options. As for third basemen, not sure there's (Mark Reynolds, Youk etc). I'd have enough cap space to sign someone like McCann, Salty, Pierz, Ruiz etc. As for pitching, well I could likely sign a FA starter like Nolasco, Johnson, Santana, Garza etc. It's tough replacing Desmond and Lawrie though.

It would be easier to determine if you knew what you could get for those players separately. I'm guessing some of those players might get you decent returns by themselves that combined could be more valuable than Fernandez who you'd be buying astronomically high on.

I know Desmond and Lawrie can get very high returns that's for sure. It's a really high price for a pitcher even Jose. If it was Mike Trout, then maybe different story. Thanks for the input guys haha!
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Who can you get in FA? I paid 8 for Edwin Jackson in a different 30 team salary cap league
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Who can you get in FA? I paid 8 for Edwin Jackson in a different 30 team salary cap league Any pitcher that is a FA in real life. So even Tanaka once he signs as well. We took over real MLB team rosters, so I completely overhauled the Blue Jays especially to get under the 100 M cap.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Who wants to make a trade? Anyone under the prospect limit looking to acquire a prospect?
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Or Yusmeiro Petit if someone is looking for a nice pitching gamble.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I wanna make a trade. Im bored.
