I think back to the last two Waiver Drafts in FC, there were some real gems: Darvish and Cespedes in 2012, and Ryu and Puig this year. There were also some great prospects in 2012, Billy Hamilton, Kolten Wong, and Middlebrooks if I'm not mistaken. We are in a golden age of Cuban and Asian imports.

There are always great gems in the waiver draft. Even guys like Brandon Beachy, Devin Mesoraco, Chris Archer, Starling Marte, David Freese, Koji Uehera etc have been taken in the waiver draft as well. The past two years though, like you said the talent has been off the charts - Darvish, Cespedes, Ryu, Puig - and it seems like more can be coming.

What did Alex Gordon go for again? I just joined a 30 team dyntasy league and got offered Manny Banuelos for him because Gordon "makes to much money"

That's a great deal. If Gordon isn't making like 15 + million, I think your good! Are you in the one Gibbers sent invites out for?

Lol Manny Banuelos has no value whatsoever. Gordon netted Corbin and Cingrani in our league (overpay by NJH IMO). In FC, Gordon got traded straight up for Almora and then Grandal.

I thought I was selling high on both arms.... nope.

It's a great deal. Though this league we're in (if it's the same one as Gibbers has been promoting is a salary league). The salary cap is at $100 million. I was offered Joe Mauer in this league - the guy wanted just some draft picks. At first, I was like wow that's a great deal, though saw Mauer's salary figures in this league and saw how much he was making until 2018, I said forget it. Would rather use my $ and bid on a group of some solid FA's rather than handcuff myself on an injury prone catcher.

Gordan is making $11.66 million in this league and under control until 2016 at that rate. That's pretty decent I'd say, though still have to familiarize myself with salary leagues since this is the first one I've ever been in.

Yep I joined and Im the one who would give up Gordan lol. Someone warned me new owners get low balled but wasnt expecting that. Every team has a pretty big budget IMO so 10 million dollars doesnt seem like much for a good quality player. Unless you're the Rays, which makes sense now

The Blue Jays haha.

I sent you a message on Gordon just now lol. I thought you had Banuelos and was getting offered Gordon for him. Forget that message then.

Didnt get a message, but im pretty sure we're talking about different leagues. The bluejays owner in this one seems like he's been there for a while and the original cap is set at 115 I think, plus or minus whatever cap space was traded/traded for

Now Tyson Ross gets lit up. My week:

Harvey - hurt

Felix - hurt

Doubront - skipped

Buehrle - lit up

Pelfrey - lit up

Ross - lit up

Kintzler - lit up

Farquhar - lit up

Vincent - lit up

Cobb - not lit up, but very poor

12.55 ERA, 1.20 K/BB, 0.457 OBPA

Has anyone had anything close to this bad?

I don't know for sure, but my pitching was pretty bad this year :P

Wow, Boxy ain't gonna like this.

Here are the results of the Waiver Draft Lottery:

1) Cats Ass

2) z3r0s

3) sammy

4) Boxy

5) jays_fever

The rest of the order will be determined by the inverse standings after the playoffs. Also, a reminder that the Waiver Draft is not a snake draft.

I'm not pissed, I shouldn't get everything handed to me just for finishing last. I'll deal with it.

That's the spirit pal. You'll get some good players regardless.

To be quite honest, I don't mind missing out on Rodon. I don't like the idea of taking any pitcher (outside Strasburg) that high, and there are some pretty nice looking bats in the middle part of the diamond like Gatewood, Jackson etc. who could bring just as much value to my team. The waiver draft is a bit more disappointing as I hoped to get at least top 3, but oh well.

Question though, are waiver draft picks tradable too?

It was a weird year this past MiLB draft. There was definitely more premium talent on the pitching side. I'm certainly not upset with Kohl Stewart.
