Uh oh, looks like Beachy's elbow just blew up again.

That's sad. 9 parts depressing, 1 part hilarious since you just traded for him.

I wonder who throws more innings over the next 3 years between Beachy and Pineda. It's pretty possible that neither one ever throws a full season again. Hopefully this is just scar tissue breaking up, its very unusual for someone to get a 2nd TJS so close after the first. It's weird too, because I watched Beachy's last start and his velo was up to 93, whereas he was sitting around 89 in the previous start and only hit 91 once.

TJS is very good, and very refined these days, but it's still not a sure thing. Look at Ryan Madson. Look at Daniel Hudson.

I think some teams might be too aggressive with their TJS casualties. Everybody aims for 12, 11 month recovery times these days. There's so much on the line, it really would behoove teams to give guys a couple of extra months, even if they're pain free and antsy. Tell them to suck it up and wait ~14 months.

If Beachy has a re-tear, then I would bet on Pineda. Mostly because he's at the end of a rehab cycle and, despite the lack of strength right now, if the Yankees take it easy he could be good to go for 2014. Whereas with Beachy, you've got a slightly older guy and you're looking at probably a lost 2014 (if it's a major setback, which it seems to be).

Realistically, Rasmus probably has the best shot at being the most valuable player in the deal. An .800 OPS CF is fairly valuable in this league and he's entering his prime. I'm not really a big believer in Folty (BBs, HRs, terrible team, AL), and I like Heaney but most people put a mid rotation ceiling on him. Pineda has had multiple setbacks this year already.

I almost asked you about him last night for his start today before completing my Buehrle deal.

Looks like it was the right decision. Pretty sneaky and good move though.

I was actually losing 12-1 at one point this afternoon (around 3:00) and somehow I finished 6-6. Mike Napoli single handedly turned a 9-4 into a 6-6 after SNB.

First one to clinch a playoff spot. Feels good. and No49 echoing my sentiments, no one wants to see FTD in the playoffs.

I'd trade starters Andre Rienzo, Juan Nicasio, or Jeff Lockefor a draft pick.

Also, Ernesto Frieri is back as the Angels closer after striking out the side and earning the save over the weekend. I'd also trade him for a draft pick.

Send me a PM or an email!

I love cockblocking :D

Just a reminder to all GMs that waivers DO NOT carry over to next year, they reset based on standings BEFORE the annual waiver draft. So if you have a high waiver currently, use it or lose it. Like your bank accout when you die, you can't take it with you.
