Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 What happened to NorthOf49's 20 game lead on the league? RTTM is a beautiful thing.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Dinger gets another easy week this week. My offense is decimated.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Congrats! I've gotten crushed the past two weeks, that's what has happened. My 14-week stranglehold of the #1 seed is over. Strength of schedule has evened out now that we've been through the league once. You still have a legit contender, just not the standalone powerhouse you envisioned early on.

Only the top 3 I think are locks for playoffs still. Should be a great finish and of course will be great to see all the division winners beat in the first round of the playoffs
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I would say it's a big blow for you that Pujols is out for the year, but he's been utter shite so far. Chris Carter has more HR and a higher OPS.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Nick's team is really good at pitching to the score. He's the Jack Morris of the league.

Chris Carter has more HR and a higher OPS. Still a drop down to a combo of Keppinger (or whatever player I pick up as this will probably be a rotating spot) and Mesoraco that are essentially replacing him. I've got 4 guys in my lineup which have a sub .300 OBP over the past 30 days (Segura, Longoria, Rollins and Fowler) it's unreal that I've been able to win all my weeks over this time.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 How the f*** do your PRs not have me first in offense? That's seriously whack.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 it's .002 difference stop your whining.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Sorry, but I ran the z scores this morning. My team is +13 on offense while no other team cracked +6. So I really don't give a s*** if I have -85 SB, my offense is the best by a mile. Your methodology is broken.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 it's .002 difference stop your whining. Even taking SB into consideration, my offense has a .704 W%, while 2nd Leg is at .651.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 My team has gone from an elite Holds juggernaut to average in one week. I lost my best guy in Melancon, and now Downs is traded to Atlanta which cannibalizes both Avilan and his value.

It sucks when you have a Holds beast and he becomes a closer after you've punted saves. :/
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Anybody looking for some saves? Frieri is available! He's a good young closer that will be good for many years.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 It sucks when you have a Holds beast and he becomes a closer after you've punted saves. :/ Yeah. Even though it may technically increase his value, it does jack s*** for my current team. Hopefully someone is looking for a closer at the deadline.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 No one is looking for closers. Huston Street and Chris Perez have been shopped hard for a month now with nary a nibble.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 yeah I'm looking for holds too...no sense grabbing another closer when Soriano on his own has led me to a 6-6-4 record and I'm 8-4-4 in holds. I think North of 49 has the best record in these two stats being 11 games over .500 in the two (and still 5 games over .500 in the other two pitching counting stats). Of course all three of his starters picking up holds for him aren't SP eligible next year so it's a process to start all over again.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I'm almost at the point where I'm thinking I should totally revamp my strategy and punt holds instead of saves. If Gregg is traded out of Chicago, I would have three closers in Perez/Melancon/Strop. So who knows, I might even be looking to add a closer in the near future.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Bogaerts playing 3B tonight in Pawtucket. Looks like he'll be one and done for SS eligibility, sorry BTS.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Andrus is a top 200 player in Yahoo's standard game (5x5), not when you add in SLG and OBP. In any case, he should bounce back into a long-term play because of the steals and previously-steady BA/OBP. My problem with Andrus is that every year in drafts, he's drafted like a top 50-80 player in fantasy baseball, which he clearly isn't. He can put up nice numbers like SB, runs, BA, though I would never take him anywhere in the top 100.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Why the fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu are you rostering Jeff Keppinger ? he was playing tonight. Hoping to get a cheap hit or two. for some reason i thought McAlister was a lefty. The 1B options are pretty bad...Brett Wallace might find my roster this week

I believe I am due for some congrats too. From being ordered out of the league by you, to passing you in the standings. Talk about a turn around!
