The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Hard to fault a guy for selling high on a 32 year Japanese import in a year where he's likely going to miss the playoffs. I'd do the same trade even if I was a borderline contender. I did sell off Samazijahjska too. I kinda regret selling him, but I did get a CF that is on pace to go 30/30 with a +.300/+.350 slash. And also Jared Weaver (along with his declining velocity). But I got a nice return on him too with Skaggs + #8 Pick. And I'm not really sure how I could turn this deal down. Lawrie was drafted 24th overall this spring, he's still the same guy he was then. And all I had to give up was a 32 year old pitcher that I drafted at pick #295...

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 LOL Silvio "Rules - 6 people viewing" on PBs Is there a rule about drafting a player that's already drafted? Does the draft just continue on with him making a new pick when he gets back? Is the pick forfeited and he gets a comp pick at the end of the draft? Or does the person just get to pick again in the same spot?

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 That's hilarious that 6 people went to PB to read the rules. Probably hoping he had to forfeit the pick. Bunch of A hole
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Nice pick by Gibbers... my list keeps shrinking and I'm quite a few picks off
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Nice pick by Gibbers... my list keeps shrinking and I'm quite a few picks off That's who I should have picked when I moved up the draft last night. Ed Rodriguez would have still been there with my next pick. I got a little panicky when I saw that people's individual boards were starting to converge. The beginning followed a pretty clear consensus then there was a lot of variance and now the top performing minor leaguers are getting picked off one by one with only the odd 2013 draftee here and there.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 ^^This deal sounds really sketch
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Feels good to finally make a pick. So good, apparently, that you spelled his name wrong.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Why? It looks like you knew who the guy in front of you was targeting and were trying to leapfrog him
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Check again. I still have the email bro.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 It looks like you knew who the guy in front of you was targeting and were trying to leapfrog him Sammy sent me his next few picks, so I can tell you for a fact that's not true.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Lets keep up the pace, I like it! It's been so long since my last pick
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Going with the future batting champ. Future perennial .400 OBP Stephen Piscotty. He was high on my board.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Nice pick Nick... I was really hoping Ranaudo would fall to me.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 16, 2013 Author Posted June 16, 2013 Nice pick Nick... I was really hoping Ranaudo would fall to me. Was going to go young and younger with two position players, but decided at the last minute to pop some upper minors arms in Ramirez and Ranaudo. They're just lottery tickets, but Ranaudo seems to have figured something out. Them and Stroman/Bauer might be able to help me in 2014 when I go for a repeat championship.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 People actually made lists? I didnt know who Roache was until about 5 minutes before I took him
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Hisashi drops a regression bomb on BTS... Lawrie next? Nice pace with the draft today lads. Half way through Rd 4 now.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Hisashi drops a regression bomb on BTS... Lawrie next? I feel a little bad about that. First start for his new team is his worst start on the year..
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Great pick on Miguel Almonte! I would've taken him 84th, very surprised he lasted so long. Parks is huge on Almonte and prefers him to Zimmer. Draft has gone very quick tonight. Thanks, I was considering two other pitchers but ultimately I liked Almonte's upside a bit better. Crawford was one of them, but I thought he had a better chance of falling to me at #83.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I wanted Nolan Fontana during my set of final picks. The 108:88 BB/K is just interesting to follow

Laika Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Am wondering what type of SP Brandon Belt could land me. Not necessarily selling, but if you're interested in Belt, send me an offer.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Butt Stallions can't take a little B.Inge Drinking, he's going into panic mode.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I believe some of you guys have played with Gibbers in another dynasty league, do these low-level prospects he takes turn into big-time players down the road? He deals a lot so it's not all from his draft but he's got Posey, Simmons, Segura, Heyward, Trout, Matt Moore, Rosenthal, Gose, Baez, Singleton, Almora, Story, Gary Sanchez to go with some vets and is sitting in 7th place.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I'm basically just throwing s*** at a wall and hoping it sticks from this point on. With the limited knowledge I had for the prospects not taken in March, I made a short list. It got raped in round 3. My list had Glasnow, Robbie Ray, Sonny Gray, Maikel Franco, Arismendy Alcantara. I was really hoping ONE of those guys slipped to round 4.
