Frag Verified Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Is Dave Nonis the worst GM in hockey? What an idiot.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Oh lord.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) I love how this organization seems content with just rolling 3 lines every game. Why the f*** did they even need to sign Orr and McLaren. No 4th line minutes to guys who can actually play effectively for 5-10 minutes a night. Face punchers ftw!! Edited September 2, 2013 by havok24
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Easy solution. Become a fan of the jets, good core, team headed in the right direction. Don't they need to upgrade on Pavelec? The Jets should try to acquire Reimer. Nonis is a moron, so you might get him for some scrap heap. Maybe some 4th line face puncher.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 Nope, we have him signed until the end of the 2016-2017 season. He still has a lot to prove though, but I don't think we are looking for an upgrade ATM. Reimer might be a good fit for marketing, since he's from Manitoba. But that's about it. To be honest, I thought the Jets goaltending was their downfall last season. I really don't think they will go anywhere as long as Pavelec is their starter. Reimer would be a definite upgrade over him though (Not that I want him out of Toronto).
Frag Verified Member Posted September 3, 2013 Posted September 3, 2013 Dreger "I believe James Reimer is a #1 goalie but the Leafs' collapse in Game 7 could have been avoiding if Reimer made some big saves" HAHAHAHA f*** you Dreger!
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 HAHAHAHA f*** you Dreger! Does that f***ing moron need to watch the regular season or game 5 for that matter? There was a pretty good chance if Reimer doesn't make that unbelievable save on Bergeron in game 5, that is was lights out for the Leafs. f***ing hate how quickly people trash Reimer for one bad period, and seem completely oblivious to what he did prior to that.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 I Would be open to join a seperate keeper league as well, only if it was a 16+ team league though
Frag Verified Member Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Rumours out there stating that Burke is heading to Calgary. Interesting.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 For shiggles: the best current All-Undrafted Team. Honestly, it's actually pretty good, IMO.
Frag Verified Member Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 For shiggles: the best current All-Undrafted Team. Honestly, it's actually pretty good, IMO. My opinion? Among forwards: Dupuis and Purcell are too low Klinkhammer and probably Aucoin are too high Among dmen: Girardi is way too high; Lovejoy is probably too high, too Giordano and Michalek are too low But that's beyond the point. Quite the rosters.
Frag Verified Member Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Theoretical Goaltending Aging Curve (not adjusted for selective sampling bias) using the delta method
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Theoretical Goaltending Aging Curve (not adjusted for selective sampling bias) using the delta method That's interesting. I would have thought goalies get better with age. But, if you look at it this way... Younger goalies usually don't get a chance to start in the NHL though, only the most talented of them would get the chance. Which means the ages 21-24 would only have goalies that are performing good, because the bad ones are kept in the minors so there wouldn't be goalies dragging down the average SV% for the younger ages. But the middle aged group 28-34 would have more "established" goaltenders which would be given a longer leash even when they are not playing up to par. These players here would be dragging down the overall average SV% for that age group.

This is the reason why Tom Tango (or Tangotiger) is looking over the data and going to adjust for selective sampling bias.

Oh I see. I didn't see that part. It would be interesting to see the curve of only the players that actually started playing in the NHL when they were 22-23 and how their SV% changed throughout their career.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Leafs rookie tourny starts tonight, 7pm on local rogers channel.
Frag Verified Member Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Bovada just shut down the bets on the Maple Leafs (+/- 96.5 pts). LOL
Frag Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Leafs sign Mason Raymond on a PTO. Interesting.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 Leafs sign Mason Raymond on a PTO. Interesting. Omg him over Colton Orr every night would be so nice.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Omg him over Colton Orr every night would be so nice. Yup.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 He's not worse than 8 Leafs wingers. He'll earn a spot. Leads wingers that include Frazer McLaren, Colton Orr, and Tyler Bozak.
Tuco Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Leads wingers that include Frazer McLaren, Colton Orr, and Tyler Bozak. Bozak is a center.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 Bozak is a center. Didn't we play him on the wing at some points during the year last year? Might just be on the power play / might just be my s***** memory but I feel like he played a bit of wing as well.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Leafs sign Mason Raymond on a PTO. Interesting. If you can sign him at the very cheap, I'd love to add him.. nothing to lose.
Frag Verified Member Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 If you can sign him at the very cheap, I'd love to add him.. nothing to lose. Raymond - Bolland - Kulemin would be a good 3rd line, but of course there's Randy in the way there. GOTTA START DEM FACEPUNCHERS!!1

I think he took something like 400 more faceoffs then the 2nd ranked guy.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Raymond - Bolland - Kulemin would be a good 3rd line, but of course there's Randy in the way there. GOTTA START DEM FACEPUNCHERS!!1 Is there anyway we could get all 3 of them (Kadri, Franson, Raymond) under the cap? f***ing hell with Nonis and his cap management this summer. I'm guessing Raymond would come cheap around 1M?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 10, 2013 Author Posted September 10, 2013 He played center more then anyone on the team last season. I think he took something like 400 more faceoffs then the 2nd ranked guy. Oh, then I'm just a moron lol, carry on.
Frag Verified Member Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 What is cap space? -Dave Nonis
