Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 LOL... that doesn't help, it just reminds me of the collapse in the final 10 minutes in game 7 against the Bruins leading 4-1...

Ya, don't think I'll ever forget that. This team is better, though! They're just doing the typical Leafs thing and making us sweat!
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 I wouldn't be too worried. Columbus has been a wreck recently. Save Andersen for that game.
JuniorFelix Verified Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Apparently Sergachev is going to play for the Habs tonight as an emergency callup. I know this place harbors a legion of Canadiens fans
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Ottawa's up 2-0 after 2... looks like they'll clinch 2nd in the Atlantic.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 So the Leaves are back under .500 now, and will likely make the playoffs after losing more games than they've won. I don't really understand why hockey fans are so keen to see objectively mediocre teams compete to be named the league champions. The 3 month long playoffs are fun, too. I'm rooting for the Lightning!
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 NHL playoffs are too long, but its been this way for quite a while so what do you do. What they should be doing is starting the playoffs earlier. I can't get up to watch hockey when its f***ing nice outside.
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 The point system is stupid, sure, but the NHL has the best playoffs of any of the major sports.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 Sens clinch 2nd... Lets Go Caps and Devils!

Start the season a little bit earlier and condense the playoff schedule a wee bit more (more back-to-back games in the first few rounds).

I'm rooting for the Lightning! 16 of 30 teams make the playoffs. Bound to be a few .500-ish teams make it. Same with the NBA. Just be happy that you weren't old enough to remember when 16 of 21 teams made the playoffs....and the Leafs STILL were battling for a spot.

Every game needs to be prime time in the local region. Remember the post-season scheduling for the Jays and people were pissed they were scheduled for the weekday day game.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Get anymore useless offensively Hyman? Holy f***.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Showing Leafs ahead of Bruins on ESPN, likely from head to head record. Leafs face Penguins looks like.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 Showing Leafs ahead of Bruins on ESPN, likely from head to head record. Leafs face Penguins looks like. The Pens are playing the BJs. They're showing the Leafs ahead of the Bruins because the Leafs have a game in-hand. The Bruins have the first tie-breaker (ROW) against the Leafs, so the Leafs need at least a point against the Jackets tomorrow, or they'll play Washington. It's either Washington or Ottawa. Huge difference.
JG34 Verified Member Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 5 Canadian teams in the playoffs after 0 last year!

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 hoping for a point and marner to score his 20th - 4 rookies with 20 or more goals, a rookie crop for the ages

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 5 Canadian teams in the playoffs after 0 last year! Too bad the Jets got hot a week too late.
