There are three CHL players on the roster, and another in Max Jones who almost surely would have been on the team if healthy. I really don't think his choice of league is the issue here, Debrincat was on the team last year, USA hockey brass must have soured on him for some reason.

5 GP, 1 point, 25 penalty minutes last year in the WJC including one I remember was 5 and a game for a spear. They also have a history of cutting top scorers for "grit" on the back end of the forward group. Kyle Connor was leading the NCAA in points last year and they inexplicably cut him, he would have easily been a top 3 forward on the team. Can't have too much skill, you know.

Probably hyperbole, but that was the worst officiated game I've seen in a very long time. Good god these refs suck major donkey ass.

I'm aware of the NCAA and NTPD rumours, etc... just having a laugh at their program/expense, the guy's been melting the red light and gets cut, so much dumn. King, there's no way it was about the spear, he took those penalty minutes in the one incident and was getting like 6 minutes a game, Wilson was supposedly happy with how he took the reduced role. Like you said, it's their program "pace and grit", bro!

That was an awesome game to watch. To think Marner and Matthews have only ~34 NHL games. Future is bright for the Leafs.

Yes, long as they stay healthy. Matthews looks to be stay aware of everything around him. Marner on the other hand has been making some risky moves. Hope Babs is talking to him.

 

Also, Andersen with 45 saves last night. He's the real stud the last while. Save pct up to .925

I hate the hype of the U20 Championships. The Alfie number retirement has me with a tear in my eye though.

Saw the Sabres game at the end of November.
