Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Yeah I haven't bought into advanced hockey stats like I have for baseball. Not that I discount them all together, but I don't think the can just replace some of the traditional measures yet (maybe ever). Goals scored > primary assists > puck possession, the last two could be intertwined.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 yeah I don't discount the new stats, I just find them less compelling in a game like hockey than a game like baseball that has more defined outcomes. also, glad the Habs are selling. If its me, I deal Markov.

Includes both G/A/PP as well as puck possession stats, and how they compare to the rest of the NHL.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 I also need to just learn more about the new stats. I just don't care as much about hockey (compared to baseball), so I'm probably more content to have a more 'casual' understanding of the game.

Frag Verified Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Doesn't behindthenet as well? It does, but the site I linked shows graphs that are more aesthetically pleasing.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Doesn't behindthenet as well? Doesn't care about hockey... K........

_Nox_ Verified Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 I'm happy the moved him, but I would have thought there was a better deal out there than Marko Dano (shite) and what will basically be a 2nd round pick. I'm underwhelmed as a kind Jets fan. At least they got something for him. How much of a market do you really think there is going to be for 2 months of Andrew Ladd? In a vacuum, the deal is easily a win for the Jets. The counter-point to this, of course, is that hockey GMs are almost all operating at Amaro-level and quite honestly there might have been a better deal out there. I mean, in a league where Martin Erat gets traded for Filip Forsberg, basically anything is in play.

That's my point, crap gets traded for more than this every deadline, so I figure its a light return. Ladd produces some offense and has all the 'intangible' things that hockey guys seem to love. At the end of the day, it really depends how you value Dano. The pick is going to be like 27th overall, which isn't worthless, but I figured a better deal was out there.

The late 1st rounder isn't hugely valuable but it is something. It's a good package for what they gave up IMO.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Flames likely to trade Kris Russell. Yay!
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Nice, Leafs get almost nothing for Reimer.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 meh trade for the leafs. good luck reimer!
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 can we get a lottery pick? is tank nation going to get to the finish line?
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Nice, Leafs get almost nothing for Reimer. I thought Stalock was decent. I remember when he popped up in fantasy. Is he a UFA?
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 2018 midround draft picks are a hot commodity at this years deadline lol

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Good trade for Flames. Hudler for a 2nd and 4th. No chance they would have resigned him. Last year's playoff appearance was over their heads.

Frag Verified Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Did they move the trade deadline without announcing it or something? What's with all the deals today?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 2018 4th rounder for Reimer. That's fine. They weren't going to re-sign him and the trade market for goalies is nil. The best thing about this is that Reimer won't be stealing anymore points for us. Tank on, my brothas!!!!
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Hopefully we can get something for Russell too. They need to move him. Our back end is eating up too $ and he is a flawed player but still going to get 4mm AAV ish based on what I've heard.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 oops, posted a WTP Dynasty trade here. s***

I mean, in a league where Martin Erat gets traded for Filip Forsberg, basically anything is in play. This post was very fitting today. Last year, Cody Franson gets traded for what, a 1st? This year, 70+ point guy Jiri Hudler fetches a 2nd. The same price as Roman god damn Polak. Then immediately after, shitbag Purcell fetches a 3rd. I don't know the possession numbers for these guys, but I have no idea what any of these f***s are doing. This is actually interesting to follow, though.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Trade: To goldbull: Chara, 3rd round waiver To z3r0s: 1st round waiver This probably goes in the fake NHL thread.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 This probably goes in the fake NHL thread. yup just caught that while reading GD's post
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Oilers fleeced the Pens. Got a 3rd round pick for one of the worst Dmen in the NHL. I'm amazed how many teams still are bad at evaluating defenseman.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Yuck... Reimer for a 4th, I guess that what happens when only 1 team was interested.
