Looks like AndrewStoeten.com just redirects to some generic blog platform now. Color me not surprised. Even NJH knew that was a terrible idea on page 1 of this thread and he hails from a place where they got internet for the first time like 3 months ago.

You're not allowed to say this and then ignore projections which, at their core, are primarily built to ignore SSS noise. They interpret small sample sizes better than your intuition ever will.

You've almost certainly done this incorrectly, at least in the nature of the way you are asserting its' importance (how catcher offense ages). I'm guessing this is near the top of the list of things that went wrong: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Survivorship_bias But really, lets just think about things for a second. Is there any logical reason for us to expect a 35 year old catcher to hit better than a 32 year old catcher? Not that I can think of. I mean, in all likelihood, Dano is a solid 3rd liner that you have some control over. The late 1st rounder isn't hugely valuable but it is something. It's a good package for what they gave up IMO.

How much of a market do you really think there is going to be for 2 months of Andrew Ladd? In a vacuum, the deal is easily a win for the Jets. The counter-point to this, of course, is that hockey GMs are almost all operating at Amaro-level and quite honestly there might have been a better deal out there. I mean, in a league where Martin Erat gets traded for Filip Forsberg, basically anything is in play.
