Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 Wow man, P.K Subban donated 10 million to a childrens hospital in Montreal. *golf claps* Brosoff! As much as I hate the guy it is an awesome donation. Good job PK.

After looking them up, pretty fair trade, some decent prospects. Edited September 17, 2015 by Spanky99
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I like this quote by Lou Lamoriello: "He brings exceptional speed," Leafs general manager Lou Lamoriello said of Grabner. "There's no question that he's one of the top penalty-killers in the league. He pushes other people, and he pushes the defence back." Seems like he's coming from a place that understands modern hockey stats. Sounds like they are looking at the right things. Seems like a really good trade. I've never heard of any of those five AHL guys.

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Don't understand the grabner trade? Looks like another injury prone lupul. Expect to get more from him at the deadline?? edit. maybe to make room for the guys invited to training camp, and then selling them all?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Smart trade for Leafs. But don't mistake Lou behind the one behind it, it was all Dubas and his team.

Yeah, I read that this puts them like 5 contracts under the total contract limit now, so they have room to keep everyone who has a PTO thingy.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 A few of those prospects were worth knowing the names of in the way that hey maybe they could make the league and be useful for a bit, but definitely not guys you worry about trading Maybe Verhaeghe actually
Frag Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 The NHL and the Blackhawks should fire whoever the PR agent that recommended that press conference, because it was shameful.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Good trade by the Leafs. He will be flipped at the deadline for a nice pick/player for prospects that most likely won't amount to anything. Islanders cutting cap and the Leafs gaining better trade bait in the future.
Swervin81 Verified Member Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I like the trade. Grabner has decent rate numbers, he's just been about as injured as Lupul the last few years. He can be a decent flip at the deadline at 50% retention to a contender if he bounces back. Plus, this frees up a slew of spots for signing guys on PTO's, camp invitees, and other previous year draftees to ELC's that can't slide.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The NHL and the Blackhawks should fire whoever the PR agent that recommended that press conference, because it was shameful. Its clear they should have no power to do anything since both were the ones that f***ed up this situation in the first place. He should of been suspended with pay until the legal matter is resolved.

Travis_Snider Verified Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 go leafs go split squad vs sens tonight. leafstv and tsn4
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Hopefully the kids stay out of the league this year... that way I can cheer for a top 3 pick. Still hope everyone has a good year and we are big sellers at the trade deadline.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2015 Author Posted September 21, 2015 Is Matthews that much better than Chychrun or Tkachuk?

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 A top 3 pick would be phenominal. Buffalo and Edmonton should both be better than the Leafs. Hoping it'll be between the Leafs and Coyotes for top pick. Canes, Leafs, Coytes and devils i think will be battling for last.

He's got the mannerisms down pat with the repeated starting of the sentences and the change of tone with the Bobby Orr comparison.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 LMAO. Apparently one of the Flames players had a big hit and a fight in the game versus the Canucks, then someone realized he wasn't supposed to be in the lineup (so he had to leave).
Laika Community Moderator Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Setoguchi and Glencross released by Leafs. this surprises me
