Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Lets not forget the Leafs basically traded Dougie Hamilton and Tyler Seguin for Kessel. And now this is all they get in return despite being locked up long term and a proven goal scorer. So, what does this matter now, they're shedding money, and getting younger, the take is still underwhelming however.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Kessel is going to score a zillion goals on Crosby's line, lol.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Baseless narrative was baseless. He sure seemed like it last year lol
Frag Verified Member Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Beleskey close to signing a 5-year deal with Boston.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 LOL Leafs sign Winnik. Infinite loop incoming?
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 so down with that signing. leafs have had a good day.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Beleskey close to signing a 5-year deal with Boston. Ugh. Boston is going to be even more annoying. Is Jimmy Hayes any good?
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Really like those little Winnik, Hunwick, and Parenteau contracts for the Leafs. I wonder if they can wriggle out of Phaneuf's contract somehow. Obviously that will be the #1 offseason goal now. With the way the NHL works these days, they'll probably cut big names and salaries this year and be more competitive than ever.

Think they look to move Bozak first before seeing if Babcock can rehabilitate at least a little bit of value with Phaneuf. No rush to move him, still a whole 6 or 7 years left... for Dion Phaneuf... ... i'm gonna go lie down
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 So in all seriousness how long til we see a playoff run? Yes I know it's early but let's play along. Lol. 6-8 years?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 So in all seriousness how long til we see a playoff run? Yes I know it's early but let's play along. Lol. 6-8 years? Rough estimate seems fair. Maybe 5-7.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 What do you mean breakdown? It's a percentage, so 1.275 or whatever per year. Oh I thought there would be some sort of terms...Certain amounts each year to equal 15% that would have been better. Not sure why i thought that though So in all seriousness how long til we see a playoff run? Yes I know it's early but let's play along. Lol. 6-8 years? Depends on how our picks develop and big FA in 1-2 years. I'm going to say 3-5
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 LOL Leafs sign Winnik. Infinite loop incoming? This is to be expected, no?

GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 Apparently Bozak will be moved before the season
baubau Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Martin St. Louis has retired. Dang, that sucks. I am sure he still had a bit in the tank but its always best when players retire while still good than bad (i.e. Brodeur). Probably had one the best underdog stories in the NHL.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 TJ Oshie traded to the Capitals for Troy Brouwer, Pheonix Copley and a 3rd round pick Can't say I saw this coming

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Washington looks to be really good next year. If they could have kept Mike Green I think they would be there with Tampa for best in the East.
Frag Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 (edited) Keith Olbermann just ripped Steve Simmons to shreds on ESPN, calling him the Worst in Sports today for his stupid Kessel article. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou_HJRhWF6g Edited July 2, 2015 by Frag
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Mike Green isn't that great. Hes a pretty good Dmen.. Washington is still a legit contender without him though. If they can get Erhoff, watch out.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Hes a pretty good Dmen.. Washington is still a legit contender without him though. If they can get Erhoff, watch out. He is maybe a top ~50 D-man, or something like that. Overrated because of points. PPA's thanks to Ovie.

Laika Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 #2-3 Dmen are pretty damn valuable. He's not worth $6M per
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 He's not worth $6M per Guys who just get signed in UFA usually aren't worth their salaries and are often overpaid.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 Guys who just get signed in UFA usually aren't worth their salaries and are often overpaid. So then don't sign them
