burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Truth, until the stretch and playofs. Yup which is why everyone watches WJ over NHL during the holidays.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Is there anyone in the world who you want to punch in the face more than Damien Cox? The guy even has a stupid shiny bald head, just tempting you to take a swing.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Is there anyone in the world who you want to punch in the face more than Damien Cox? The guy even has a stupid shiny bald head, just tempting you to take a swing. Very few people. Cox is one of the worst.

Scot Moore should be fired. Guy signs Buck and Pat to 5 year extensions and then hires those 2 goons for HNIC.

Slot Machine Verified Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 See, you answered my question, these guys are f***tards and they feed the mouth breathers of the hockeyworld and everything turns to puss, unbelievable, Kessel won't re-sign here. All because of those 3 goofs I posted above. BS...really, teams should have the right to allow in there room, NHL would have none of that though, it's even an off day, *SMFH* Does Kessel have an opt out? I thought he signed an extension. Anyway, I'm not a fan of Kessel personally.

havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 "Can the Leafs win anything of significance if their pudgy designated goal scorer happily sports multiple chins" - Feschuk Is this even real? Feschuk actually wrote that in one of his articles. What a f***ing ********.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Is this even real? Feschuk actually wrote that in one of his articles. What a f***ing ********. Bro, he's a goof.

Laika Community Moderator Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 How can anyone not be a fan of Phil Kessel? Sure he's a one way player but he's a point-per-game 30 goal scorer in his physical prime. Goal scorers often get unwarranted reputations as being inconsistent. It just comes with the skill set, because goals are a rare commodity. Even 50 goal snipers spend ~40 games of each season failing to contribute in their biggest way. Just because a guy who collects ~6 apples every year seems to find the score sheet more often doesn't make them more "consistent" than a 30 goal scorer. The Leafs problems are the same as they've been for the past few years. 1. Phaneuf 2. Secondary scoring 3. Roster construction around the edges 4. Coaching Kessel is one of the few good things they have going for them... maybe it is so bad that they should trade him for a haul though...
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 If Toronto can get a long term C as part of a package thats the only way I would move him. I always find it funny that when Sundin was there they could never find anyone to play with him and then as soon as he leaves they can't find a C.
Slot Machine Verified Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) I do appreciate Kessel's scoring prowess, I just don't think he is the guy you build around. And he is really the only asset they have that can potentially have a big (positive) impact on the future of the team if moved. But who knows, there is no rush. Edited January 7, 2015 by Slot Machine
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 looking from the outside (thank god), Kessel isn't "the problem". "The problem" is a one way player on the wing can't be your far-and-away best player. It's not his fault, it doesn't mean he isn't good, but it does mean you're not going to win. The leafs need to trade him because he's one of the pieces that is actually worth something. That has somehow manifested into a 'you can't win with Kessel' narrative. I look forward to seeing the fans railroad him out of town, than bitch about what they traded to get him vs what they get in return. Should be good fun.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 It's not Kessel, he does what everyone expected out of him. The problem is just the lack of talent simple as that. I don't feel like Phaneuf should be Captain but I also don't feel like anyone else deserves it on this team. Phaneuf is great in the old style of hockey not this one, plus 25+ minutes a game isn't for him.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I tossed the sports section in the recycle bin after just reading the headlines, pukes.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2015 Author Posted January 7, 2015 I'm pretty faithful Dubas is smart enough to realize Kessel shouldn't be traded unless it's massive value.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Lol Phaneuf really isn't the problem either. Its paying a piece of glass in Lupul 5.25, Clarkson 5.25, Robidas 3.0 and Bozak 4 million. All those guys have at least 3 years left on their deal besides Robidas who has 2.

Phaneuf isn't the problem but he's definitely a problem. Reports are Nonis doesn't have much time left and Mark Hunter is the next GM? Huh?

Don't think Bozak belongs with that group. Overpaid? Maybe by a 1 million/year. He brings a lot to this team and is underrated.

Reports are Nonis doesn't have much time left and Mark Hunter is the next GM? Huh? I guess so. But there is some idiot GM out there that would trade for him even with that contract so he still has value. Its why I liked the Bobby Ryan contract as a Sens fan. Even if it is a lot to pay for a winger he still has name value that its better than letting him walk for nothing.

I hope you're right, the smear campaign is out in full force, The UNCOACHABLES, THE COACH KILLERS, etc, etc, f***ing rats!

He brings a lot to this team and is underrated. He's completely overrated playing with Kessel and JVR. He's really more of a 3rd line C and you don't need to give out those contracts for those kind of players.
