Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Those light up advertisements on the boards are distracting.

Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Beauty play by Gardiner and Raymond!!
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I know there are leaf fans everywhere but what is with the big turn outs in Cali? People working in cali? Vacation?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 This is really ugly LOL HUGE BREAK, TERRIBLE
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 That is seriously one of the worst calls I've ever seen. Stupid rule
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 This game looks like it's going to be a blowout. Leafs have barely had any touches of the puck.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Reimer left out to f***ing dry Sharks 7+ goals tonight?
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 So this is what it looks like when the top possession team in hockey plays the worst possession team in hockey. What a f***ing gong-show.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 So this is what it looks like when the top possession team in hockey plays the worst possession team in hockey. What a f***ing gong-show. and leaf fans will be all over reimer tomorrow
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 When was the last time we had the possession in their end?
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 CHP, You watching tonight's game?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 haha someone posted the shot totals on facebook..i totally thought they were just exaggerating a bit and making a joke
Nox Verified Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Mikhail Grabovski would be the Leaf's best player this year. 105 GD+. Not too surprising as he was probably their best player the last 3 years. (I'm saying that off the cuff without looking anything up). #carlyled
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 lol @ phaneuf's headshot on JVR last night.

Seriously, you remind me of some of the young guys in trading that create all sorts of useless models then get their ass handed to them by the markets. What you don't seem to understand is organizing data based on faulty assumptions just creates more bad data but with an author who is supremely overconfident in the model. Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Mikhail Grabovski would be the Leaf's best player this year. 105 GD+. Except that he's not, and you are being absurd again. Washington is struggling this season. Seriously, you need to get a grip on reality, you are lost in your numbers and seem oblivious to reality.
theblujay Verified Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Knew you'd like it I trust your numbers, but something must be wrong because the Leafs aren't the worst team in the league by a huuuge margin like that shows
theblujay Verified Member Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 They have one of the best goalie tandems in the league. Ok so I guess the point is that part of the Leafs team is the horrendous, but the other part is very good. Are you trying to say that the Leafs have been lucky or something?
Nox Verified Member Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Seriously, you remind me of some of the young guys in trading that create all sorts of useless models then get their ass handed to them by the markets. Terrible analogy. Sports and free markets operate in completely different realms, governed by fundamentally different forms of randomness. His model may be wrong, I dunno, I haven't looked at it and even JFas would freely admit there's work to be done on it (as there is in all of hockey analytics). But your analogy sucked, just thought you should know.
Nox Verified Member Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 I'd like to hear CHP's thoughts on last nights Sharks-Leafs game Just a few bad breaks went against the Leafs. Or something.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Things just keep getting worse for the canucks http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/watch-could-this-knee-on-knee-end-keslers-season/
Frag Verified Member Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 It's just a simple weighted Corsi translated to goals with QoT and QoC and possession zone starts. Also includes pen taken and drawn translated to goals. No shooting data yet. You should include TOI/GP in your weighting system, especially for forwards. Plays a part in QoT.
Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 They have one of the best goalie tandems in the league. This kind of post puts you clearly in the nut job category. Do you seriously think that Toronto's goalies are so much better then say New Jersey and Vancouver that they have overcome the supposed huge disparity in quality of the rest of the line up ? And further to that, good luck finding anyone credible that thinks those two teams have far superior line ups to Toronto. Yes, I understand your silly model tells you this. You might do well in snake oil sales, used car sales, or maybe a Nigerian start up makes sense. I'm not sure why the group on here laps it up so easily.
