letsgobjs Verified Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Habs dominating. Carlyle's coaching is so frustrating to watch
theblujay Verified Member Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I can't believe how bad the Clarkson signing was
bbb44 Verified Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I bet not as much as i hate the Laffs especially Kessel and Kadri
bbb44 Verified Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Its the only way the fans could make it known there not happy about Luongo not getting the start and the BS treatment he is receiving for no reason
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Leafs’ McLaren, Preds’ Dubnyk put on waivers Nice move, now hopefully Orr is next
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) Looks like Bettman is all over Seattle.. I'm curious to see what you guys think would be best for the nhl. If you guys were in control of the NHL (ignoring bettman and his terrible management) what would you want to do? Personally I would prefer to have keep a 30 team league. Move: Phoenix, Florida, Carolina, St.Louis and Columbus To: Seattle, Portland, Milwaukee, Quebec City, and Hamilton. Eastern Conference Atlantic: Toronto, Hamilton, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Buffalo, Detroit, (7 Teams) Metropolitan: NY x2, Philly, Pittsburgh, Washington, New Jersey, Boston, Tampa Bay (8 Teams) Western Conference Central: Chicago, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Milwaukee, Colorado, Dallas, Nashville (7 Teams) Pacific: Los Angeles, San Jose, Anaheim, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton (8 Teams) Also interesting cities: Baltimore & Houston. Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I'm on fifteen tallboys, there's no excuse for that. Why is an excuse necessary?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) Why move St. Louis? Despite success and their long history they continually rank among the lowest 5 value wise. Edited March 4, 2014 by Dylan
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) Really, wow, I would've never thought that?! I love that team. Let me rephrase that, their attendance isn't the lowest but ranks in the 2nd half. Blues are constantly ranked in the bottom 5 in team values too. Edited March 4, 2014 by Dylan
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 This year they are only averaging 16,625 home attendance, 86% of their arena. It's actually pretty surprising how low they have ranked in profit and team value over the years. When talking about value, forbes has them ranked 28th, with a current value of $185 mil. They lost 2.5 million last year.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Looked more into it, they are under new ownership and have improved significantly last year from the previous year. Still surprising they don't sell out this year though.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Goalie Swaps today: Fasth to EDM Bryzgalov to MIN Luongo to FLA I get the Fasth and Bryzgalov deals, but Luongo to Florida makes no sense to me.
Frag Verified Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I get the Fasth and Bryzgalov deals, but Luongo to Florida makes no sense to me. Especially after trading Schneider not too long ago. They originally had a goalie controversy because they had two starting goaltenders. Now? Two unproven goaltenders. Lousy asset management by Gillis here.

Not like they're going to the playoffs anytime soon.
Frag Verified Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 And why does Florida want him? Not like they're going to the playoffs anytime soon. I have no idea. Very weird trade.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I'm struggling to understand this one. It's been 8 years since the first luongo trade? Wow, seems not that long ago.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Reimer and Gardiner for Kesler? would you do?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I have no idea. Very weird trade. Unless they're kickstarting a rebuild on the fly, that's the only reason I can think of. A Kessler move now seems certain
Frag Verified Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Reimer and Gardiner for Kesler? would you do? No. Kesler is 30 and on the decline.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Reimer and Gardiner for Kesler? would you do? Yes... because I'm a Montreal fan
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 There is nobody on the canucks starting roster I'd be interested in other than the twins lol
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Markstrom is going to dominate in Vancouver. So everyone has been saying, I don't know much about him. Why do people think this?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I really like that trade for the Canucks, especially if Florida is on the hook for the entire Luongo contract. Even better, I now have 3 starting goalies in WTP (assuming Lack is the #1 at least for the rest of this year). I might not like Luongo and Halak's numbers going forward though lol. I have to think the Canucks are doing a full rebuild. With all the injuries they've had this year and what they should be able to fetch for guys like Kesler, it's the perfect time to do it.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Canucks are taking 15% of Luongo's remaining contract (800k / year cap hit)
