I'm curious to see what you guys think would be best for the nhl. If you guys were in control of the NHL (ignoring bettman and his terrible management) what would you want to do?

 

Personally I would prefer to have keep a 30 team league.

 

Move: Phoenix, Florida, Carolina, St.Louis and Columbus

To: Seattle, Portland, Milwaukee, Quebec City, and Hamilton.

 

Eastern Conference

Atlantic: Toronto, Hamilton, Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, Buffalo, Detroit, (7 Teams)

Metropolitan: NY x2, Philly, Pittsburgh, Washington, New Jersey, Boston, Tampa Bay (8 Teams)

 

Western Conference

Central: Chicago, Winnipeg, Minnesota, Milwaukee, Colorado, Dallas, Nashville (7 Teams)

Pacific: Los Angeles, San Jose, Anaheim, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton (8 Teams)

Really, wow, I would've never thought that?! I love that team.

Let me rephrase that, their attendance isn't the lowest but ranks in the 2nd half. Blues are constantly ranked in the bottom 5 in team values too.

This year they are only averaging 16,625 home attendance, 86% of their arena. It's actually pretty surprising how low they have ranked in profit and team value over the years.

 

When talking about value, forbes has them ranked 28th, with a current value of $185 mil. They lost 2.5 million last year.

Looked more into it, they are under new ownership and have improved significantly last year from the previous year. Still surprising they don't sell out this year though.

I really like that trade for the Canucks, especially if Florida is on the hook for the entire Luongo contract. Even better, I now have 3 starting goalies in WTP (assuming Lack is the #1 at least for the rest of this year). I might not like Luongo and Halak's numbers going forward though lol.

 

I have to think the Canucks are doing a full rebuild. With all the injuries they've had this year and what they should be able to fetch for guys like Kesler, it's the perfect time to do it.
