letsgobjs Verified Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Interesting, I can't say that I'm surprised though. North Americans are still often viewed as the harder working rough and tough guys. But I'm going to guess that perception has started to change in recent drafts.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 For most man games lost this season, it's Pittsburgh and it's not even close: http://www.mangameslost.com/nhl-man-games-lost-january-3-2014/ Toronto ranks 11th lol.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Pretty crazy. Also the Leafs have had something like 19 man games lost to suspension I think I read. That's a tonne to suspension.
theblujay Verified Member Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Lol Leafs got blown out. Embarrassing
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 Lol Leafs got blown out. Predictable Ftfy
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Olympic roster announcement in 2 minutes. I'm anticipating it a wee bit too much.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 wtf, announcement isn't til 11? f*** off
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Carolina/Sabres game cancelled, due to inclement weather. Hockey game gets cancelled due to good hockey weather outside the stadium? Well, I suppose a blizzard isn't good hockey weather.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 The Buds should be offering Raymond an extension. As a Canuck fan I watched Raymond play several years. I like him, but I'd be very careful about offering him too big an extension.
letsgobjs Verified Member Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 So much for Holland taking Kadri's spot. The hell is wrong with this team.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Holland made a great impression his first few games.. forgot he was on the team the last 2 weeks lol
letsgobjs Verified Member Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Fraser in, Gardiner out. Need I say more?
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 RTTM is a beautiful thing for an anti-fan
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Duncan Keith has 40 helpers? Norris Trophy much! He's pretty much on his own planet right now. Peaking just in time for the Olympics. Although, a lot of it is probably just 2nd assist noise. Apparently 2nd assists for defensemen should be regressed like 100% to the mean - in other words, picking them up isn't a talent. Not sure if true though, I just heard that from some nerd.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 so this is happening. wow.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 so this is happening. wow. A terrible hockey team that looks like they've quit on the coach. This organization needs a wholesale change from top to bottom.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 A terrible hockey team that looks like they've quit on the coach. This organization needs a wholesale change from top to bottom. Keep Kessel, Kadri, Gardiner, Reilly, Phaneuf, JVR, and a goalie, and clear the rest the f*** out.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Meh, this team was going in the right direction until Carlyle showed up and Burke was fired. All is not lost yet. But we've lost two big parts of that team in Mac and Grabo, added Clarkson, and extended Bozak to give us virtually no cap room. The reassuring part is that with such a great core, a retooling a la the Red Sox could probably work, if we made a few shrewd FA signings and a trade or two after we clear out. The problem won't be building back into a contender, it'll be getting rid of the dead weight. Clarkson and Bozak and such won't be easy to move.
letsgobjs Verified Member Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 While the Leafs need to make some changes, i.e. somehow getting a top centre, they need to get rid of Carlyle, the guy's defensive system is just ridiculous. The players never seem to get to pucks because they're always collapsing to the middle of the ice. Teams can just cycle the puck around them for minutes on end.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I'm starting to think I'll never see a good leafs team
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 "TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper believes Lightning star Steven Stamkos can return from a broken right shin in time for next month’s Olympics." This would be huge.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 LOL Leafs Murray signed to a long term deal as punishment for your reveling in this
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Oh my f***ing god. I hadn't seen that. Goddammit. LOL Sens <3
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 After this season he'll be 7 years into his tenure and likely have three missed playoffs and only one playoff series win. And still be far superior to the Leafs.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 And still be far superior to the Leafs. I love how Dave Nonis received a 5yr extension when he hadn't even been on the job for at least a year's time.
theblujay Verified Member Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 So the Leafs are pretty bad
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 After this season he'll be 7 years into his tenure and likely have three missed playoffs and only one playoff series win. I really have no idea how the owner of the team can reward failure like this. How can you even justify a multi-year extension at this point? Plus, that lisp. I f***ing hate that guy.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 The Jets have lost 5 straight, they're f***ed. Taking lessons from the leafs.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Seems so, at least the Leafs still have a shot at the playoffs. Are 10 to 1 odds considered a shot
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Paul Maurice is the new head coach. Lol
