havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Heh, most of those pts are scored on the 3rd line....Oates is just as dumb. lol he is doing that on the third line? That's even more impressive. My god Oates is a moron.
Frag Verified Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Seems we are possibly one step closer to isolating individual play in hockey.
Frag Verified Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Oh, and Sabres fire Regier and Rolston, replacing them with LaFontaine (temporarily) and... TED NOLAN!
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Leafs get to face backstrom instead of harding tonight. It will still be a tough game for the buds. I'm predicting 4-2 Wild.
Nox Verified Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Lol @ hiring Pat LaFontaine as the President of Hockey Ops. Sooner or later a smart owner is going to hire a Rays style front office and just run a train through this league.
Frag Verified Member Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I've been saying this for years. The first team to hire a bunch of really smart analyst types is going to be so ridiculously far ahead of everyone else that there will by a dynasty there for the taking. We're talking about a league that still hands GM jobs to former players on the reg, and makes decisions almost exclusively based on scouting. San Jose is trying to be that team, though the Mike Brown trade makes me think that their system isn't as refined as the Rays (relatively speaking).

Or maybe they know something about Mike Brown that we don't. Not saying that they do but it is possible. Giving up a 4th has pretty limited downside.

Stenberg buying an NHL team and implementing said plan would not be shocking.

Giving up a 4th has pretty limited downside. That study I linked above could find something in Brown's game that puck possession stats miss, but I'm doubtful. Regardless, what the Sharks are doing is quite amazing. They are mining for Corsi data in junior leagues, even.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 Sooner or later a smart owner is going to hire a Rays style front office and just run a train through this league. The Blackhawks say choo choo motherf***er. They're pretty into analytics and they're kind of sort of doing well.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 BS call, his elbow was down and the guy crouched like a pussy lol of course the the call goes against the leafs, when 4-5 of those went uncalled during the bruins game.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Kessel gives it away and then scores the goal FFS
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 lol what a bad game for kessel... at least the leafs get a point. Back to back vs the sabres next.. need to win both.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Kadri gets 3 games for the backstrom hit Aw man are we going to lose to buffalo twice?
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Seguin and Benn with an unreal night! Still can't believe the bruins gave up on seguin
Nox Verified Member Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Seguin and Benn with an unreal night! Still can't believe the bruins gave up on seguin Not enough Intangibillllzz
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Go Leafs Go! Not expecting much tonight
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 This is one the worst leafs lineup i've seen in awhile.. and that is saying something.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 (edited) Stupid penalty fraser and now we have a tie game.. Ok I've had enough of ranger Edited November 16, 2013 by Dylan
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 I can see the movie in the making. Regression to the Mean: The Toronto Maple Leafs Story Starring Chris Farley as Randy Carlyle and Bradley Cooper as Joffrey Lupul (even though he's off screen for half the movie).
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Leafs remind me of the jays 3-4 good players and the rest of the team useless overpaid bums!
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 This team is freaking terrible. Just tank.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 I hear that David Clarkson guy is pretty good! lol
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Josh Leivo > David Clarkson.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Josh Leivo > David Clarkson. I was hoping Leivo would stay, he showed a lot of potential the first few games. Throw ashton on the 4th line and keep leivo on the 3rd. But we need ashton, orr and mclaren at all times!
theblujay Verified Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Hard to win when missing your top 3 centers. But they still haven't played a complete game all year. One good period vs. the Bruins is pretty much it...

One good period vs. the Bruins is pretty much it... We only have one top 6 C. Dave Nonis is a f***ing moron. Grabo and Kadri as this teams 1-2 would have been totally fine. Two highly skilled C's and then you got Bolland as your 3C and McClement as your 4th. Now all the pressure is on Kadri to produce.
Frag Verified Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Leafs trade Blacker, a 2013 3rd round pick and a 2013 7th round pick to Anaheim for Holland and Staubitz 3rd could become a 2nd if Holland plays 25 games. Trade makes sense for both teams. Blacker wasn't going to cut it with the Leafs at D and Holland the same at C. Of course, the Leafs also acquire a facepuncher because... it wouldn't be a Dave Nonis trade without one.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 Wow. Ducks Leafs trade. That's never happened before, ever. Like the trade for both teams. Draft pick might be a bit high though.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Blasphemy! Isn't Holland supposed to be good? At least from what I remember?
