I'm starting to think Dave Nonis is a bit of a moron.

- Lets Carlyle absolutely butcher allocation of defense minutes.

- Lets Carlyle absolutely butcher the use of Grabo. Then buys him out 1 season onto 1 year into a 5-year deal when he doesn't produce top-6 minutes while being used as a shutdown C.

- Trades Frattin and picks for Bernier with Remier already signed and goaleis like Khudobin, Greiss, Emery, Hedberg, and Garon available.

- Locks up an extremely injury-prone Lupul for 5-years, his age 30-34 seasons, at a pretty steep cap hit.
