havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 What about Poirier? Probably could have gotten him at 28. I would have went with Shinkaruk at 22.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 Decent, had him in my top 20. Habs pick is questionable I really don't see the offensive upside though. I kind of wanted Shinkaruk.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I really don't see the offensive upside though. I kind of wanted Shinkaruk. I wanted him too
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I like Bolland but I hate trading 2nd round picks.
Tuco Verified Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 I don't know about this. Chicago fans have been saying all year that he's not the same player he used to be. And he's a UFA after the season. I'm not sure the Leafs are in a position to be trading 2ns round picks for 1-year rentals. The god news for you guys is that this means Bozak is gone. Meh Bolland is from Mimico. I'm sure if the Leafs want to resign him after next season it shouldnt be a issue.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2013 Posted June 30, 2013 lol if bolland is going to be our top centerman..
Tuco Verified Member Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 IMO the issue won't be won't be whether or not they can, it will be if they should. Bolland will be 28, and is known around the league as a gritty playoff warrior with 2 cups on the resume. I could see some GM going full retard on a 6/24 deal for him if he puts up 15 goals and 35 points. 6 year deal for a role player? Ya dont see that happening.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 This will allow grabo to move out of the 3rd line and start scoring... unless grabo is on his way out?? Kadri isn't top line material
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 With the guys we have right now.. Kessel- ? - Lupul JVR - Grabo - Kadri Kulemin - Bolland - Colborne McLaren - McClement - Orr Phaneuf - Gardiner Liles - Franson Gunnarson - Fraser Bernier Reimer Scratch:
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Maybe not 6, but 5 is pretty likely. His last deal was 5 years. This is exactly the type of player GMs go apeshit over. Yup and that scares me. Bickell just got 4/16 based off his playoff performance.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 With the guys we have right now.. Kessel- ? - Lupul JVR - Grabo - Kadri Kulemin - Bolland - Colborne McLaren - McClement - Orr Phaneuf - Gardiner Liles - Franson Gunnarson - Fraser Bernier Reimer Scratch: I'd hope Reimer is starting over Bernier.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I think the leafs will sign David Clarkson.. and maybe sign vinny? Then sign another 4th liner. With the guys we have right now plus clarkson and vinny. Lupul- Vinny - Kessel JVR - Grabo - Kadri Kulemin- Bolland - Clarkson ? - McClement - Orr Phaneuf - Gardiner Liles - Franson Gunnarson - Fraser/Holzer Reimer Bernier Scratch: Holzer/Fraser, Colborne, McLaren
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 As it stands, the centre’s agent, Wade Arnott, is reportedly looking for a deal in excess of $5 million per year on a deal as long as eight years, numbers the Leafs are never going to swallow for a player who was fifth on the team in scoring with a mediocre 28 points in 46 games. http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/mj-laughing.gif
Frag Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/mj-laughing.gif I... huh... what... how... what... LOL!
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Vincent Lecavalier is headed to the Flyers. 5yr/22.5Mil for a 4.5 cap hit. I thought he would have been able to get a little more then that. I would have liked for the Leafs to go for him.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 The flyers' biggest holes are at D and G and they have very little cap space. Naturally he decides to sign a C. Terrible use of funds. I'm starting to feel bad for G.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Leafs are buying out Grabo? f*** off. If this means they retain Bozak, that is f***ing stupid. What a joke.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Jays and Leafs both have horrible management. At least now I've got the raptors bandwagon to jump on too.

No way is Grabo worth 5.5 Million a year. They'll find someone to take his place. I'd rather have Bozak then him anyway.

havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I mean this guy was one our better possession players and easily our best puck possession C. What the f***? Dave Nonis has made several questionable moves during his short tenure as Leafs GM. I mean Bozak over Grabovski? You can't be serious.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 For real: JEFF SIMMONS JULY 4, 2013, 12:25 PM The Toronto Maple Leafs will use their second compliance buyout on forward Mikhail Grabovski.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Can you do this and then re-sign the player in question???
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 No, you have to wait a full calendar year to sign the play you bought out. That's why the TB Lightening were trying to trade Vincent Lecavalier to the Leafs so the Leafs could then buy him out and then TB would be able to resign him at a lower price.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Tyler Seguin going to the Stars... woah.
