Halladay out:

@Ken_Rosenthal: No surprise: Halladay to DL with right shoulder inflammation. #Phillies recall Savery.

It's a shame to see Halladay deteriorate so quickly, but it was inevitable. That is why I am never a fan of acquiring older SP unless its on a cheap contract via FA.

For a guy who always looked like he was 65 anyways...Otis Nixon sure hasn't aged well

I was watching a Braves game a few weeks ago and he was on a commercial selling sofa's. I think it's safe to say he needs crack money.

LOS ANGELES -- Second baseman Mark Ellis became the latest player to land on the disabled list for the Dodgers on Monday afternoon.

Ellis was playing very non-Ellis like as well. Too bad.

LOL Hanrahan just blew a save and got hurt.

Both Hanrahan AND Bailey are now injured... there will be another chapter in Ben Cherington's endless search for a closer.

I'm going to Fenway this weekend

Can't wait to see those games!

I'm guessing Tazawa becomes the new closer now, unless he's not effective anymore without the stuff on his arm.

Really a mess for Boston--it means Uehara has to move up to the 9th, hurting the rest of the pecking order. If Hanrahan goes on the DL, it won't be Bard coming up--he's been incredibly wild in Portland(AA). Aceves is a no go--as he's been stretched out as a starter. Chris Carpenter has also been wild. Steven Wright was terrible already in the MLB this year, so he's out. Not terribly enticing options for relief in Boston. (oh and Morales is on the DL as well.)

Not exactly a great time for Red Sox Nation--after a 20-7 start, these injuries could be quite deflating, especially with the O's and Yankees closing in.

Pete rose was in FT Mac on the weekend . Son got me an Expos jersey that Rose signed and put all his stats on and then a Reds hat that he signed . Rose joked that he didn't play well for the Expos but Brad told him I was a huge expos fan .

How much longer can the rays survive in tampa bay?

Time to hit the road.

Possible destinations??

Las vegas?

Louisville?

Indianapolis?

Nashville?

Portland?

New Orleans?

Vancouver?

Good question. With the Dolphins(NFL) seeing their stadium renos being rejected, it's only a matter of time before the Rays start looking for other cities to move to, because the state of Florida won't give any money for a new stadium after that dingbat Jeffrey Loria ripped taxpayers off.

He should check the cracks in the sofa. For crack. Cause he's looking for crack and people lose things all the time in cracks, and could you imagine? Crack in the cracks.

The police could ask, "so, where did you get the crack?", and Otis would say, "funny story about this crack..."

Probably lighten the mood of what I imagine would be a pretty tense situation.

Portland, Montreal, Austin, Charlotte or Raleigh-Durham I'd say are most likely. They'd have to look at which AAA cities are most successful.

I can't see the montreal ever getting their team back.

Portland would be an interesting location.. They love their minor league sport teams and college sports. It's not too close to seattle and a's too.

Charlotte or Montreal would be the most likely--Charlotte's wanted to get an MLB franchise, and Montreal is trying to gauge interest in a new stadium.
