ZaunCherry Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 What if it was Adam Lind? That would haunt us for years to come.. .861 OPS in 123 AB at new Yankee Stadium. Surprisingly Colby's numbers there are terrible. You would think his swing is made for that park
digiblader Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Delusional NY media as usual: http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/baseballinsider/2013/07/the-latest-on-yankees-and-red-sox-trade-deadline-plans-marcum-done-but-did-h Yankees are NOT close to positioned to contend--Granderson and Jeter won't help this team, especially with no timetable on Granderson. And Jeter won't help much, especially with nobody to drive him in with the injuries to Youkilis, Tex, regression by Cano and the coming suspension of A-Rod. And they didn't mention that the Rays have a huge lead on NY as is.

Rasmus may just be luck/SSS. But yeah that place suits Lind nicely.
ZaunCherry Verified Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 You're correct, 57 PA. Not a lot, but not a little though. He's just been god awful there. It's his worst stadium he's had more than a handful of games at. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions without some more games, but it's not what you'd expect so far http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?id=rasmuco01&year=Career&t=b
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Matt Cain pulled after 2/3 of an inning today. Reason not yet clear...
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 @msimonespn: 1st time in his career that Matt Cain has been knocked out of a start in the 1st inning
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Giants pitcher Chad Gaudin’s bizarre fondling incident leads to lewdness charges in Las Vegas Chad Gaudin has been a bright spot for the free-falling San Francisco Giants lately, a journeyman relief pitcher turned starter who plugged a hole in their rotation when they needed it. But the happy Gaudin story just got weird. In a very bizarre ordeal from January that's just coming to light now: Las Vegas police have charged Gaudin with lewdness after he allegedly fondled a woman in a Las Vegas hospital. Police say Gaudin, 30, was drunk at 4:30 a.m. when he approached a woman on a gurney at Desert Springs Hospital, three miles from the Las Vegas Strip. According to a police report obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Gaudin told the 23-year-old woman she was gorgeous and then touched her face, leg and breast. He was arrested at the time, but just recently charged with "open and gross lewdness," a misdemeanor. An even weirder part? Nobody seems to know why Gaudin — who is married and has a home in nearby Henderson — was hanging out at a Las Vegas hospital in the wee hours of the morning. Arkadium Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Overbay hits GM for NY.... Wells goes for 2 for 2 (PH-DH). Gotta love how a routine fly ball is a GM at Yankee Stadium But don't think Overbay has been clutch. Only 1 of his 10 HR came w/ RISP (now 2 of 11)... .219 .307 .328 .635 w/ RISP.

I have never seen GM used to represent a Grand Slam before... Am I missing something here? Also, according to Yahoo (take that for what it's worth) his homer was to "deep left". Right field is the joke part of Yankee Stadium, no?

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Both corners are a joke 318/314 Park shouldn't have been allowed, but the Yankees can do whatever they want. Selig got his reacharound, so the illegal dimensions stand! Will be interesting to see if the Red Sox ever move to a stadium that DOESN'T smell like urine, if they're allowed to recreate that monstrosity of a park.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 i love parks with non standard dimensions.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 i love parks with non standard dimensions. I hate them... Same reason I hate umpires having their own strike-zones, I want a level playing field. Yes, both teams play in the same park on a per-game basis, but if you play 81 of your games at Yankee Stadium, you can get a lot of pull-happy lefties in your lineup and build your team that way, etc etc... There's absolutely no reason not to have the rules set out dimensions that must be adhered to.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 i love parks with non standard dimensions. So do I, although that short porch in Yankee Stadium is a little overboard.

digiblader Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 You're an idiot. This season is far from over--we still have to play those contenders, starting tomorrow with the O's. And they have to play each other as well. Remember, Tampa's sked is currently in the easy part--the difficulty surges after the break when they play Boston.
digiblader Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Jeter returns today. Whether it boosts the Yankees is a different story.. that lineup isn't very good as is, despite last nights blowout(why is Wade Davis even in the rotation for KC?)

And at this point we probably might as well wish for Boston to destroy them and the Yankees. Boston is gonna win this division 90% likely. Especially if they shore up the bullpen before the trade deadline. They have the $ to do it.
digiblader Verified Member Posted July 11, 2013 Posted July 11, 2013 Skeds after the break: Jays: Rays(at home!), Dodgers, Astros, A's Red Sox: A's, Yankees, Rays(4), O's, Mariners Yankees: Red Sox, Rangers(4), Rays, Dodgers Rays: Jays, Red Sox(4), Yankees, D-Backs O's: Rangers, Royals, Red Sox, Astros

I am an idiot because I think they have no shot at the playoffs when clearly the odds are slim? LOL OK, typical just insult me because I have a different view then you? What are you 5? Do the mods allow this nonsense here? Sorry, but you are dilusional if you think this is a playoff team in this division.
