Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 At this point the Jays are almost sure to miss the playoffs, so I want them to end up with 90+ losses to get rid of Beeston and AA. And so I'd like to see the Orioles lose even though I know they won't be a playoff threat.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Why? Your dumn. Because the Yankees are higher in the standings and I own several O's. Why would you ever cheer for the Yankees? Ew.
bzapple Verified Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Lol Jurrjens. Remember when people wanted to trade for him a couple offseasons ago, and the Braves were looking for a "Greinke-type package"?

The Jays' chances of making the playoffs is like 3%. I'd rather AA get canned than hope for something that won't happen, and watching the Orioles screaming back to Earth is very enjoyable.

It's pretty remarkable that the Orioles have managed to put together a lineup of, Machado .328/.362 Davis .313/.406 Jones .322/.358 McLouth .277/.365 - kill me Markakis .291/.340 Wieters .230/.304 Hardy .235/.269 One year ago I thought they'd win 60 games. Now their lineup looks like the envy of the AL East.

digiblader Verified Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Big deal--I'm more focused on the wild card spots.
mitchf Verified Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 A lot depends on just how good Chris Davis really is. Without him you have Machado, Jones, and Wieters as the core and little else of consequence next year and beyond, with no pitching. That looks a lot more dangerous if you a monster 40-HR 375+ wOBA 1B bat. Well yeah there's a reason I didn't include pitching, but it's hard to think Davis isn't real. He's a Dan Uggla-Marlins bat.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 If the Orioles (who have lost five in a row) lose this series to New York, we could have a shot at tying them in the standings this week. In our four-game series with Baltimore they're throwing out Jurrjens, Tillman, Garcia and Gonzalez. We should take three of four, even if Ramon Ortiz is starting one of those games. Tillman is good, good stuff
digiblader Verified Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 That's going to be difficult to do..but 50 saves+ is a possibility.

He's just hilarious and looks like he's been dead for 10 years. YYYYYYEEEESSSSSS!!! THIS GAME ISSSSS OVAAAH
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 White sox win. beautiful Sweet If the Red Sox could lose 3-4 games the rest of this week, the WC spots would look much more reachable

HASHTAGYOLOSWAG Verified Member Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Patrick Corbin is having an amazing start to the year. He's closing in on Ubaldo's record of 12 straight games of 6+ innings with 2 runs or less. Corbin has 9 straight and is 7-0. Today he held the Rockies to 3 hits, 1 walk, and 1 run in 9 innings while striking out 10 at Coors Field. Why can't we have a young non-prospectish pitcher figure it out. fip of 3.10 and xfip of 3.91. I give him credit, he's been amazing but I expect him to have a mid 3's ERA by season's end.
