I kind of hope they keep it up. Its a nice story, and I respect the Yankees a lot.

It's a nice story the way the 2012 Orioles were a nice story.

Anyone can be good when a pitcher like Sabathia can't overpower hitters anymore. BTW, his WHIP is now 1.32--well above his career norms.

True--but what happens when their "stars" like Jeter, A-Rod and Teixiera come back? This team could actually be worse with them back.. they're a better team without them right now.

Overbay and Nix, along with Francisco would get DFAd.. Adams in AAA, Nunez on the bench when they return. For some reason, the team probably wishes they could stick with this current team.. it feels like the 1996 team right now, which wasn't heavy on star power, and had a young Derek Jeter.

The Yanks have been legit good though - their pythag is like 5 games over 0.500, and their rotation is very solid. They've thrown a lot of talented crap at the wall and some of it has stuck. I like it. Almost Rays-like.

Rays-like with 210M in payroll (of which about 90M is on the DL right now)

But I know what you mean - the guys they picked up this off season are providing fantastic value (except for Youk)

From 92.4 mph to 90.1 mph on the fastball? I can believe that.

He got too skinny

Very "Brett Cecil" circa 2012

LOL

Man, Eric Chavez found the fountain of youth or something. 2 for 2 with a triple so far in Colorado.

Too bad he can't switch to the bullpen and become a shutdown reliever like Cecil has become.

Cecil 2012 pre-season = skinny weakling

Cecil 2013 pre season = Delabar program-strengthened beefcake

I like it because they didn't just take chances on talentless hacks and cross their fingers. A healthy Hafner is a monster perfectly suited to Yankee stadium. Wells is a good corner defender, is "only" 34, and is two years removed from a 4-WAR season - why not take a shot at the min? Not all of these will work out - Ichiro, Boesch, Nunez, and Francisco have been terrible - but a couple correct guesses can save their season long enough for their starters to get back. Disaster nicely averted by Cahsman so far IMO.

Yep, and most on one year contracts or last year so no harm in most of their "new" contracts

Cecil's wife pregnant again. Delabar program is good

Guthrie is crashing back to earth... he's given up 6 runs.. to the Astros(including 2 HR to Castro and Dominguez) Looks like the Royals are becoming less of a threat..

Yup, one game is enough to tell you that. Jesus high85.

Not the first game. He was awful vs. the Angels last start. Royals are 3-7 in their last 10, and are about to fall below .500. Basically, the AL Central is Detroit vs. Cleveland right now.

Haha I like how we are all watching the Yankees and cheering them on.

I'm cheering on the Orioles. You guys are f***ed up.

Great. I've lost out on 2 arebeeyes so far from Profar because of Yahoo.

If only your offensive depth was as s***** as mine, then you could've started him at Util.

I don't care who wins this game, I just want them to beat each other (and the bullpens) to hell (except for Robertson, took enough damage from Janssen today).
