  1. This is either: 1. A repeat of 2024 (God help us). 2. A repeat of last season's slow start. I hope it's #2.
  2. We are now a combined 2-8 against the mighty Rockies, White Sox, and Twins.
  3. Mets lose again to the Nats, and a certain Gus Varland, brother of Louis, picks up his 3rd save!
  4. The life of a fan - we've all been there, that's why we love baseball. PS: I don't get any of that from my wife - she just avoids the TV room lol...
  5. That lineup was a dream - and they all played the same position.
  6. MLB site is showing the pitching matchups for the Twins series: Gausman v Ober Corbin vs Woods-Richarsdon Cease vs Prielipp (L) Yesavage vs Ryan
  7. To quote the great Jerry Howarth: 'There she goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
  8. Miles an intriguing acquisition from the rule 5 draft. I like the stuff. Could be a better version than the great Joe Biagini. Good job Ross (Eat My Shatkins is going to cream his pants).
  9. I think Fisher, Miles, Hoffman, Fluharty, and Rogers are all in play. Big game today, to lose a home series to them when we miss Crochet would be a disappointment. Hopefully our offense can run up a big lead.
  10. Love it when a pitcher comes out and throws strikes - so many 0-2, 1-2 counts, whereas with Cease it was a lot of 2-0, 2-1, and 3-2 counts. It makes a huge difference. Blue Jays 2025 after 29 games: 13-16 Blue Jays 2026 after 29 games: 13-16
  11. It's tantalizing to think about, but remember, Louis was coughing up HRs last season as well. Fortunately, they are performing well so far in their new digs.
  12. 'Regular' posters. Again, I can't help but get the impression that because I'm new, some of you think I am not qualified to express my opinion or to dare disagree with the prevailing wisdom of the 'regular' posters. If 'regular' posters are going to accuse me of having mental disorders, I'll give a little back. The truth hurts.
  13. To be fair, we are without quite a few regulars. I mean who foresaw a Murderer's Row of Eloi Jimenez, Lenyn Sosa, Johendrik Pinango, and Brandon Valenzuela?
  14. Wow, thank you for being nice. That is very big of you. From my embryonic exchanges on these forums, there seems to be an assumption that because someone is new, that means they don't know what they're talking about. What I see however is that if anyone dares have a dissenting view about the ball club, or is critical of any aspect of it, they are immediately accused of having mental or personality disorders or ignorance. If you read my post, I was never advocating that the man get the sack, but that in light of what has happened elsewhere, there has to be some pressure.
  15. I didn't see Alex Cora getting the sack this early, so anything is possible. The expectations around the ball club are changing - Ed Rogers did not sink all that money into the team and the facilities to see us at the bottom of the league. He wants us to get back that baseball heritage we once had. Boston and Philly have that baseball heritage, and that is why they have acted.
  16. It's more desperation than anything else. If we were 16-12, Sherzer was halfway decent, and we didn't have so many injuries, I think he gets at least one more minor league outing. Hopefully, he has a good outing because we need it. But seeing as the Sox and now the Phils have canned their managers, after their expensively assembled teams have s*** the bed, the pressure is starting to mount on JS - you can see the stress on his face whenever the Sportsnet cameras pan to his face in the dugout.
  17. Funny how I just threw a stat out there, which helps to explain our slow start, and the Atkins Apologists immediately took it to be a criticism of the GM, who was not even mentioned in the post. There's that word again, trigger...
  18. Our rotation is 27th in innings pitched and 22nd in ERA.
  19. The injuries have piled up and are unfortunate, but we might be out of it by the deadline - lose tonight and we go bottom of the division.
  20. If he wants to go to the elite level, of which he is more than capable, he has to throw strikes. That game was a microcosm of his career.
  21. Just show him a video of what the other guy was doing - it's called throwing strikes.
  22. We saw the good, the bad, and the ugly with Cease tonight. We need PW to repeat what he did with Ray, and to a lesser extent, Kikuchi. All 3 walks and the hit batter came around to score.
