  1. I believe Ed Rogers is committed, otherwise he would not have poured all that money into the renovations of Dunedin and the Rogers Centre. Baseball is no different than any other sport; if the team underperforms, somebody (or somebodies) will pay for it.
  2. I would say from 1994-2012 we were not competitive under Interbrew SA and the Ted Rogers version of Rogers, so the slow starts in those seasons are irrelevant. Neither ownership^gave a flying about the ball club. Yes, we did sign Roger Clemens, but that was just to try to put more bums in seats. In 2013-14, Rogers finally pulled their finger out, but you can't just flick a switch and expect to be competitive. Since 2015, the club has been heading in the right direction, but still lacks that baseball heritage, that winning culture, that je ne sais quoi that clubs like the Yanks, Cards, Red Sox, and Dodgers all have. Last season was a massive step, and I believe that Ed Rogers is in it to win it, but we are still not quite there.
  3. And yet another sweep at the Graveyard. 4 runs total in the series. Final 13 innings scoreless,
  4. Why couldn't that hurricane have not destroyed the entire stadium?
  5. Yes, at least we have shown improvement this time. In last year's sweep, we scored 2 runs in 3 games, this one we have scored a whopping 4.
  6. We scored 8 runs in the 8th inning at Minnesota on Saturday. Since then we have scored 7 runs in 36 innings.
  7. We have to hope we see a repeat of last season. This offence was pretty bad for the first third of the 2025 season, and then started to click after the Bichette HR in Texas in game 55. That's all I got lol.
  8. McClanahan is sitting on a rocking chair in his bathrobe, smoking a cigar.
  9. What negative? Re Barger, I said I hope he hits his stride. I also said we can't expect him to be our saviour. It's called balance. And I made that comment without childish name-calling. If you guys think you can bully me into towing the party line by calling me names, you have another thing coming.
  10. Sure, but look at the Dodgers. They are brilliant at player development and scouting, and have the money. We don't need another of those in our division lol.
  11. They certainly benefit by flying under the radar every year. They are playing with house money every season. We should be grateful they don't have wealthy owners, otherwise we wouldn't get a sniff in this division. Their scouting and player development are off the charts. Shapiro and Atlins always brag about how many years of player development experience they have, but our system pales in comparison to theirs. You can see they are well coached on both sides of the ball. And remember last year they had to deal with a lopsided schedule because of the damage to the Trop, otherwise I think they would have been a factor. The one thing that hurts them is their stadium - they seem to get a ton of injuries every year, and I am sure playing on that turf and that awful infield at the Trop doesn't help them.
  12. Anti-social buffoon, mouth breather, jerk-off (among others)...I mean, honestly.
  13. Don't worry, Dubas's long lost twin will lead us to the promised land!
  14. That's not how the conversation unfolded in the first place. I made a perfectly innocuous statement that Barger has potential to add some much needed thump to the lineup once he's locked in at the plate. There is literally nothing to attack in this statement. This was countered with a bunch of strawman style arguments about how I was saying Barger was a savior, or that it I was suggesting it was guaranteed that he would immediately hit to his ceiling. That poster obviously isn't interested or even capable of rationally discussing opinions that run counter to his without pivoting to logical fallacies in reply. If there was single poster on this board who was going to defend that garbage it's no big surprise that it turned out to be you riding in to white knight for this antisocial buffoon. Quite the obsession from someone who has me on ignore, I love it when he uses those big words, o Max of the Silver tongue.
  15. I don't know. You tell us. We are not as bright as you.
  16. Well, we are going to find out soon enough if Popkins was this genius we all thought he was, or whether last year was just a fluke, and the opposition has made the necessary adjustments.
  17. Now 90-141 all time at the Graveyard. Feeling more like 2024 than 2025.
  18. Must have gotten a sore neck from watching all those HR fly out of the park...
