  1. Hopefully this stint allows him to reset and get back on track.
  2. I will take the Baez contract to get Skubal, and then at least Sosa will not be able to traumatize me any longer.
  3. Straw makes sense because he is a freak. Has Valenzuela played anything outside of catcher? Still perplexed that Clement cannot seem to play 2b. Edit: I forgot that Straw played some games at SS and 2B for the Astros in 2019 and 2020.
  4. If the Marlins would like to give us back Otto Lopez it would be much appreciated.
  5. It may be in the interest of some RH bats to learn how to play corner outfield.
  6. Ricky Henderson would be proud.
  7. He looks much better now so far in AA. Hopefully he keeps it up.
  8. The lack of RH outfielders in the minor is also astonishing. They are like unicorns now. At least Nimmela and Kasevich are RH, so there is that.
  9. Senile Springer is probably a better fielder than Pinango and Sanchez.
  10. So which of our left handed bats want to learn how to hit right handed. 😄
  11. Maybe Springer can play in the outfield. It can't ber worse than Pinango and Sanchez. 🫣
  12. Lukes has clearly been reading the online chatter about him being surplus and has basically told us to hold his beer.
  13. I would give Kasevich a look this year to see what they have. Maybe he sticks. At the very least, they need to know if him making the Big Leagues next year is a viable option. If your alternatives are Sosa and Schneider, you have nothing to lose. Similar to Pinango. They now know that they have MLB player in Pinango. It makes decisions going forward easier.
  14. Kasevich and Nimmela are putting up decent numbers in AAA and AA respectively. Next year, Kasevich probably is with the big team, and Nimmela is probably in AAA. It is too bad they are not a bit further in their development because the team could use a rh batting middle infielder right now.
  15. Chances are someone will almost always be injured and Pinango will just flip back and forth between the Majors and AAA until a trade happens. Springer is bound to end up on the DL again at some point. If Barger can fill in at 2B in emergencies for now, they could just DFA Sosa and option Schneider, and not carry any additonal infielders. I would probably do that instead of carrying rh bats that cannot hit better than the lh bats. Barger can platoon with Okamoto at 3B until both of them get back on track. Who gets traded will also depend on what is offered in return.
  16. There is going to be a lot of DFAing when everyone is healthy.
  17. Now that Sanchez seems to be hiting and Pinango is probably here to stay, Lukes is probably on the bubble when he returns unless they decide to not carry a backup middle infielder.
  18. The Jays have been so fortunate to be pulling these random starters out of nowhere with all the injuries.
  19. We have to see if Playoffs Barger was the real thing or just a hot streak. If he bats like in the playoffs, then so long as he is average defensively at either position he is fine. His arm in right field is not average.
  20. By the end of the season, Kasevich will be the utility infielder. Right handed bat who can play ss and 2b. It is inevitable. At some point, they will have to sort out collection of left handed bats in the corner outfield. They cannot keep them all forever. And Pinango will not be the one going, his bat is the real deal.
  21. Well, left field is up for grabs. Or it is Pinango's spot onces they open the spot for him. 😉
  22. Barger is the starting right fielder going forward. Hopefully, his bat bounces back to last year's playoffs numbers.
  23. I know it is early, but swapping Okamoto for Bo seems to have been a great piece of work, especially when you factor in the money.
  24. He only has to be on the roster for 90 days. They will do some roster gymnastics for 90 days to slip him through.
